On the 26th I got me a ( ( ( Surround Sound ) ) ) system. It's neat!
Watched the first few minutes of Star Trek VI to see how it was. Kat came out of the bathroom just as Praxis exploded. She ducked when the shock wave went by. I laughed, but I completely understood. I was sitting on the couch, and I felt like, "oh, crap, this thing's coming right at me. I can hear it coming!"
I heard switches and blips on the Enterprise come from my closet, but there weren't any speakers over there.
And what was the first movie I watched all the way through on my first ( ( ( Surround Sound ) ) ) system???
Fried Green Tomatoes. Yeah...I got a girl living with me.
It was a fine movie, and all, just not quite a ( ( ( Surround Sound ) ) ) film. Like Back to the Future.
Kat wants to see the trilogy. She said she hasn't seen them in a really long time. So, we watched Back to the Future. Sitting outside the clock tower with Marty's girlfriend I looked over my shoulder and for a second wondered why there were birds in my kitchen. When Marty goes to 1955 you can hear the quick blast move from the front of the room to the back. It's like you're Marty McFly hearing 1985 close behind you. The last blast from the lightening scared us. Yeah, I knew it was coming, but I didn't expect it to come out of all the speakers and fill the living room with thunder.
It's sooo frickin' neat. Way better than going through my 1984 Technics receiver and two 1998 speakers. Have to watch all my DVDs now. You know, as if I have that kind of time.
