So I'm guessing this is like months later - and someone's been feeding them so they've multiplied out of control?

IF YOU'RE WONDERING HOW THEY EAT AND BREATH, AND OTHER SCIENCE FACTS, JUST REPEAT TO YOURSELF IT'S JUST A SHOW, YOU SHOULD REALLY JUST RELAX!

I mean yeah I dunno *SHRUG* he probably just left a TON of food and water there, or the Klokateers did it, or whatever.

ACTUALLY Actually actually....

uhmmmm... *thinks*

Well, it could have been that Toki got a very pregnant, and very ready to give birth girl mouse! So that like, as soon as he left she was like, "ARGGG CALL THE HOSPITAL, WHERE'S M'BAGS!?"

And then the guy mouse, having seen that he was shouldered with fathering a huge litter that wasn't his own, happily went along with eating the babies once the girl mouse started panicking about how their cage wasn't big enough to support all of them.

And then he ate a few more. You know, cuz he was hungry. (And then she did too, because she didn't want to make her new cage mate feel awkward like he was being a pig or something.)

*nod* :3

except that he starts out with 2 adults, and by the end the cage is full of both partially eaten adults AND babies.

Actually, they'll eat their young if the cage is too crowded. So it could have been that the Kloketeers took care of them for Toki; they had babies, some grew up; got too crowded and they did what nature tells them to do when it gets too crowded.

When my mother worked for Grants' (a store like K-mart for you youngesters), they had a small pet department. With cages of gerbils that were a little too crowded as they kept the males & females together. Mom was off and we were shopping. She stopped to talk to a co-worker right by the gerbil cages and I saw an adult eat a baby.

Not the best selling point.
