many states in the US have made it illegal to smoke in bars and restaurants too.

This is totally true (feel free to Google): in Seattle, where I live, it is illegal to smoke TOO NEAR A BUILDING. That's right, smokers are not only exiled to outside, but they must stand out in the middle of the road, out in the rain, to have their fix.

I'm actually surprised to hear about anywhere you can still smoke inside. You're right, it must be Pickles' influence.

Where I work, I am actually not technically allowed to wear perfume.

Seth was an old 33 1/3 LP set to play on 45

It means I'M TO DAMN OLD. :D

Back in the Ancient Times, record players could be set to spin at different speeds. LPs were generally supposed to rotate more slowly (at 33 1/3 rounds per minute)) than singles (which played at 45 RPM). If you mistakenly played an LP at 45 (and EVERYBODY did this), it would end up sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks, comically high-pitched, but also very, very fast.

Also, Pickles staying in Charles' hotel? IMPLICATIONS LAWLERCAKES.

Maybe they were just having a meeting? About, you know, stuff. :D

(BTW, I actually like Australia. A whole lot! Just thought I'd put that out there.)

Thanks to both of you for the tips on old record players. Yeah, I remember having one when I was really little, like in elementary school, but we didn't use it much and it got sold at a yard sale at some point.

MMMmmm meetings. About stuff. And things. :DDDDDD

I've never been to Australia, but I hear it's nice. I guess Ofdensen just hated the fact that he had to deal with Seth. I would too, to be honest.

As an aside since I didn't mention it before, Charles reading Pickles' note aloud was just delicious. ^_^

We went to Australia a few years back and a koala bear terrorized my husband and it was just awesome.

BTW, I keep wanting to mention, your icon is kind of adorable.

OMG a Koala Bear? Aren't they supposed to be all cute and docile?

And thank ya! I just like her hair in that movie. ^_^

Eternal Sunshine, right? Great movie.

Koalas *are* cute! But they're cuddly 'cause they're kinda stoned on the tasty eucalyptus leaves. So I was holding a baby koala for about 10 or 20 minutes for photos, and it was the most completely adorable thing ever (OMG SO FUZZY!), but then they passed it off to my husband, and it was starting to get cranky, and you know how those little guys cling to the eucalyptus trees? LONG, NASTY CLAWS! Which, he began to dig into my husband. So we have a whole series of photos somewhere of my husband looking terrified of a baby koala. GOOD TIMES DUDES!

eternal sunshine now keeps making me think of scott pilgrim vs. the world -- and vice versa. it's the blue hair, man. ...ok, and the dream sequences.

but actually, ramona and clementine are a lot alike (in ways other than their hair), wouldn't you say? er, assuming you've seen that movie.

I just don't know why people keep having these slashy thoughts about what could have been a perfectly innocent statement even though Charles and Pickles have so totally done it I mean OMG Pickles was in a hair band in the 80s it might as well be canon.
