I HAVE MORE FIC. PLEASE DON'T SHOOT.

TITLE: STALKER
CHARACTERS: JUBILEE/X-23
FANDOM: X-MEN
RATING: PG-13ISH
PROMPT: "SNEAKY"

THIS ONE WAS INSPIRED BY THIS REALLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK PICTURE THAT A FRIEND OF MINE POSTED. IT WAS ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT JUST BEGGED FOR A FIC TO BE ATTACHED TO IT.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WRITING ANYTHING IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE. I THINK IT CAME OUT PRETTY GOOD, I EVEN TRIED FOR A FEW ACTUAL CONTINUITY BITS. NOT THAT MOST WILL CARE, BUT HEY, I'M A MARVEL GEEK, SO IF I'D DONE OTHERWISE I'D HAVE TO... I DON'T KNOW, TRY TO WRITE AN ESSAY MAKING SENSE OF SEVENTEEN OBSCURE RETCON ERRORS OR SOMETHING. *GRIN* BUT ENOUGH GEEKING OUT. HOPE YOU LIKE.

Jubilee walked into the mansion and knew someone was stalking her.

There were some things she’d learned while hanging around with Wolverine that never went away. Knowing when she was being hunted was one of them; she’d gotten that sense pretty fine-honed from all the times he’d practiced on her. He’d called it ‘training.’ She’d called it ‘creeeeeepy’ the first few times, then gotten used to it once she learned how useful it could be.

That same sense was back now. And there was no one around.

“Scott?” Jubilee called out. “Emma? Hey, Wolvie, you in here?” She hadn’t told anyone she’d be dropping by; after the whole thing with her losing her powers she didn’t know if she’d fit in here. But hey, there was still a crop of new mutant kids to deal with, and she’d thought maybe she could give ‘em a few pointers.

Or that she could finally have a beer with Wolverine, since she was old enough and stuff now.

But this . . . not really what she’d been expecting. Had they all been captured again or something? Nah, she would have heard about that through one superhero channel or another. She wasn’t great at keeping in touch, but she’d know about--

The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. Someone was sneaking up on her. Jubilee whipped around, holding her hands out in front of her and dropping into something that might have been one of the martial-arts stances Logan was always trying to teach her.

Nothing. No one was there. Not good.

She backed toward the closest wall, her anti-stalker training coming back quicker now. She strained to hear something - a breath, a footstep, a creak from the floor. Not a sound. For a moment, she wished for Wolvie’s hyper-senses, then she felt hot breath on the back of her neck.

Jubilee spun, slipped, managed not to tumble to the floor. Breathing hard, she got a look at her stalker.

A girl, probably not much older than Jubilee had been when she’d first come to the mansion, with dark hair and a slender build and a look on her face that was way, way, way too familiar. Jubilee started to understand why she’d felt like she was being stalked.

“I know you,” the girl said.

“Nah, don’t think we’ve met,” Jubilee said. She would have remembered her, Jubilee didn’t say. “I heard about you, though. Laura, right? Wolverine’s . . . cousin?” Sort of, not really; she was his clone. But it seemed rude to bring that up.

“X-23.” The long-haired girl took a step toward Jubilee, her nostrils flaring. “But I know you.”

“What, you read about me?” Jubilee grinned. “I was kinda famous when I was with the X-Men, yeah--”

Laura stepped so close the two of them were nearly touching. Jubilee forced herself not to take a step back. Just like Wolvie when he went all predatory, she told herself. Show no fear, don’t piss the girl off, and she’d be fine. But there was something in Laura’s eyes she’d never seen with Wolverine.

“You were with him for a long time.” Laura leaned closer, and sniffed at her. Less than an inch separated them. “When you were young.”

Jubilee barely nodded. What was with this kid? She blinked, and- Laura was gone.

“You wanted him.” Laura’s voice came from right next to Jubilee’s right ear. She sniffed at her again, along the base of Jubilee’s neck.

“I--” Jubilee stammered, made herself take a deep breath. Her face had grown warm. “Maybe a little, I was a kid and he was--”

The tip of Laura’s tongue slid up the side of Jubilee’s neck, and Jubilee gasped. What was that - why did she--

Laura nipped at the top of Jubilee’s ear, making her twitch. Jubilee started to say something, found herself short of breath, her heart pounding. Then Laura caught her earlobe between her teeth and tugged, and Jubilee had to force herself not to cry out.

“What are you doing,” Jubilee gasped.

“You want me too,” Laura said. “I smelled it when you saw me.” She tangled her fingers in Jubilee’s hair, pulling her head back, exposing her neck.

Jubilee had the sudden sensation of knowing how a prey animal felt. She told her knees to stop shaking, and swallowed hard. “Maybe a little,” she whispered.

Laura didn’t smile, didn’t smirk, didn’t act like she’d won. She pressed her lips to the hot skin at the base of Jubilee’s neck, making the other girl moan softly. Jubilee’s legs quivered, and she fell to her knees, Laura guiding her down.

Laura inhaled deeply as she raised her gaze to meet Jubilee’s eyes. Their lips met in a fierce kiss, warm and wet and animalistic. Jubilee dug her fingertips into the back of the other girl’s neck, trying to bring her closer as Laura’s tongue flicked against her lips. She felt Laura nip her bottom lip, and the twinge of pain sent a quiver through her, making her shudder.

“Laura! What’re you doin’, we’re supposed to be on outdoor--”

The kiss broke all at once, and both girls looked toward the voice. Wolverine stood there in the doorway, one hand on his hip, the other down at his side. His mouth hung open, and a lit cigar rolled across the floor at his feet. In all the years she’d spent with him, Jubilee hadn’t ever seen him look that surprised. It took a good five seconds before he moved again.

Logan put a hand to his forehead as he turned around, and walked away muttering, “There ain't enough beer in the world for this. . . .”
