I'm not usually one for paying attention to the gender of authors, but this just blew me away. I'm amazed that Arakawa Hiromu is a woman (I'm hopeless with figuring out gender based on Japanese names...but isn't Hiromu a male name anyway? Pen name? *cackle* So cool!) and I'm in awe of her talents. And her no-nonsense approach to plotting. And her coolness when it comes to killing off characters. And her action scenes. And her comedy. And her NO SHOUJO BUBBLES & FLOWERS & LOVE TRIANGLES & WIMPY GIMPY CHARACTERS!!!! Take that! ♥♥♥
It's a little humbling to realize that I've pidgeon-holed my thinking to the point where I just assume that the mangaka of shounen series are male. I will now try to refrain from thinking that way.
Oh, and Bleach? Rocks. It's a must read, and I'm hoping the anime lives up to the manga's greatness. ^___^
