Chapter Three: She Understands Me.

A sudden clapping was heard from behind her.
Jang Ri In froze, the moment she turned around, she saw a really familiar handsome and she raised her eyebrows.
“I didn’t expect you can fight so well.” Junsu walked towards her slowly.
“How long have you been standing there?” Ri In crossed her hands in front of her chest, and stared at him. She actually didn’t notice him standing there; it’s only 2 weeks, and poor Ri In... Her cautiousness became this bad...?
“Not long, but I saw what I should see.” Junsu actually wanted to help her just now, but the calmness on her face made him stopped and stood aside to watch her interestingly. She didn’t need his help at all.
“Don’t you know how to help?” She glared at him.
“Just look at him, he can only hook girls, fight? Forget it.” Ri In thought.
“I think the ones that needed help were those youngsters.” Junsu laughed lightly, ignoring her glare.
“You’re right.” Ri In shrugged and the glare in her eyes disappeared.
“Your moves are fast and sharp, that’s why you’re from Jung Han Triad.” Junsu said like it was not much of his concern.
“What do you mean?” Ri In’s expression turned cold and looked at him deadly.
“I found this on the ground just now.” Junsu showed her his palm and she saw a silver necklace. The pendant of the necklace is actually a pair of white-gold earrings, with a light purple phoenix on each earring, “This seems to belong to you?” Junsu ignored the cold expression from her and chuckled.
“Huh...?” Ri In muttered and felt her neck. Her necklace, it’s missing. Damn it, it must have dropped during the fight just now.
“Give it back to me.” Jang Ri In put her hand out to ask for the necklace. Afraid of being recognized as someone from Jung Han Triad, she could only wear the earrings as a necklace, but she still got recognized. Other than someone from the Mafia society could recognised this earring, no ordinary people could, so how did he know...?
“I heard the one having this earrings from Jung Han Triad, is nothing small. Especially the phoenix on the earrings, light purple phoenix... Looks like your position in Jung Han Triad is rather high.” Junsu said as he placed the necklace on Ri In’s palm, and he smirked. The ‘Phoenix’ meant the head of Jung Han Triad, looks like she’s the Heiress.
“Since you already know, why bother asking?” She put on the necklace and looked at Junsu, “How about you...? How do you know so much about Jung Han Triad? Who exactly are you?”
“Do you mind talking it over food?” He turned around and carried a big Kentucky Fried Chicken paper bag.
Looking at the paper bag with a wise looking old man’s face imprinted on it, and the nice smell of the fried chicken, Ri In swallowed her saliva and nodded.
“Ok.”

“Oh, so you got chased out of house.” Junsu laid on the grass, both hands behind his head, he looked at her and smiled teasingly.
Jung Han Triad is the most powerful Triad now, holding the control of both the Black and the White society. Jang Dae Hyuk, the head of Jung Han Triad, is sharp, decisive and cold-hearted.
Junsu heard Jaejoong told him about Jang Dae Hyuk having a daughter, the way she does things were also the same as her father, who would expect the famous daughter of Jang Dae Hyuk is sitting beside him now? And the funniest thing was she got kicked out of house.
“If you want to laugh, just laugh.” Ri In licked her fingers as she took another big bite from the fried chicken drumstick, not forgetting to roll her eyes at him. The Heiress of Jung Han Triad, got kicked out of house, worst still, she has no money to actually eat a proper meal, how pathetic and embarrassing is that?
“So your brother is Kim Jaejoong, the infamous Private Investigator, that’s why you know so much about us.” Ri In licked her lips, bit her lower lips as she reached out for another piece of fried chicken, “Is your brother like what everyone says? As long as it’s something he wants to know, he will be able to get information about it?”
She remembered her father told her about Kim Jaejoong before; he is really famous in Mafia society, and very mysterious. As long as it’s something he needs to find out, he would be able to get it, no matter how tough it is. But not everyone could hire him, he chooses his clients, once the client makes him unhappy, even if the client offered him high prices, he would reject the offer. He is really someone with a personality.
“Uh-huh.” He replied softly, as his eyes travelled to the piece of fried chicken in her hands. If he’s not wrong, it’s the 4th piece already, “How long have you been this hungry?” He raised an eyebrow and smiled, this was his first time witnessing a girl who can eat this much.
“2 weeks.” So touched! This is the first time Ri In ate a proper meal after being kicked out of house, and the first time eating such good food!
“Aren’t you eating?” she asked casually as she took another bite.
Junsu shook his head, and looked at her contented face interestingly, he lifted up his hands and formed a rectangle shape with his fingers, aiming at her face, “Too bad I didn’t bring my camera with me, if not I can snap a shot of you now.”
“ For what? You want to take photo of how a pig looks like eating?” Ri In shot him a look, feeling a little uneasy from his deep stare, this is the first time she see such seriousness in his eyes.
“No, it’s to take a photo of the contented look on your face.” Junsu sat up, his fingers still formed the rectangle, framing her face, “Your satisfactory is a kind of happiness, I can hardly see it anywhere now.”
“Hmm?” Jang Ri In sucked her finger and looked at him, his words caught her attention. “Your words seem to have another kind of meaning.”
“Don’t you think so? With this kind of hectic and busy society that’s constantly changing, the looks on everyone’s face always seems to be hoping more, they are never contented. They worked hard to follow the society, but never once thought of what they wanted.” Junsu lit up a cigarette, blowing a whiff of smoke and looked up into the sky.
Ri In looked at him and said, “Seems like you’re speaking from your own experience.” She bit her fingers and pouted, she doesn’t know how to continue the conversation. He was alright just now, and now he’s all serious, it made her felt out of place and not used to it.
“Yea, because I’m one of those people.” Biting his cigarette, he said, “I kept trying to catch up with things, at the end of the day, I totally forget what I wanted since the beginning.”
“Hmmm...?” She bit her lower lips, Ri In doesn’t know how to reply him.
“Heh.” Turning around to see the awkward look on her face, Junsu laughed and he returned back to his lazy self.
“Don’t be nervous. I was just joking, look at the serious look on your face.”
Jang Ri In didn’t reply him as she was deep in thoughts, “Yah yah yah, I remembered you told me that your name is Kim Junsu, don’t tell me you’re the infamous talented photographer, Xiah Junsu?” Is it even possible to be this coincidence?
“Uh-huh.” Junsu nodded casually.
“Eh...? Really?!” Ri In blinked her eyes as she looked at Junsu unbelievingly.
“Why?” Seeing her gaped in shock, he couldn’t help but find it funny, “Do you need to be this shock?”
“No.” She shook her head, “I thought you’re a gigo.......” Ri In stopped halfway and shut her mouth, chuckling.
Junsu looked at her as he smirked, “Should I say sorry because I disappoint you...?” He looked at her funnily.
Jang Ri In quickly shook her head, “Nope. Why do you dress like that? It’s...” She laughed and continued, “I’m sorry, don’t be angry.”
“Nothing to be angry about.” He shrugged and laughed too. He laid back down on the grass, closed his eyes, and hummed a song with the cigarette still hanging from his mouth.
Ri In looked at Junsu, hugging the paper bucket of fried chicken, she smiled softly.
“Yah.” She called him softly.
“Who are you calling?” Junsu asked, eyes still closed.
“Junsu.” Ri In said and rolled her eyes.
“Hmm?” He asked softly.
“I saw the photos that you took.” She put aside the paper bucket and hugged her knees together, resting her chin on it, smiling sweetly.
“Really?” He asked again, eyes still closed.
“A year ago, I came across one of your famous work on the newspaper; I remember that photo’s name is called ‘Sunset’. After seeing that photo, I fell in love with it, so I started to search your other photos, of course, I came across the photo that made you famous, ‘Haze’.” She blinked her eyes and said softly.
“Hmm?” He said again, this time, in a lazier tone.
“You said you’ve been trying to catch up with things, and couldn’t find back what you originally wanted, but whatever you’re looking for, it’s all in the photos you took!” Thinking back of the beautiful photos he took, she said.
“Sunset, the blaring sun made the endless sea shine in a different way, the purple rays made the sea looked mysterious, the orange made everything felt like a fantasy, like a dream, it’s takes people’s breath away. The nature made humans feel small, if we do not cherish the nature, soon, the beautiful view of the sun setting would vanish. Isn’t this what you’re trying to tell others?” She looked at him and asked softly.
Junsu’s eyes shot opened as he looked at her, her words took his breath away.
She knows! She actually knows what my photo meant! Those rotten professional judges don’t even know the meaning of his photo, but she knows?!
“Y-yes?” Ri In was taken aback by his intense stare, it made her felt uncomfortable and she stuttered, “Did- did I say it wrongly?”
“Eu Kyang kyang---!” Junsu laughed, his laughter got louder and louder, lastly, he hugged his stomach and continued laughing happily, rolling around in the grass, letting the bits of grass stuck to his shirt.
“Yah, what are you laughing at?” Ri In was confused by his reaction, “Yah, stop laughing.” She called softly.
Junsu ignored her as he continued to laugh happily, his laughter filled the surroundings, as tears started to flow from his eyes.
“I’m going to ignore you!” Ri In glared at him and stood up.
“Don’t.” Junsu quickly held her hand, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything else, and don’t misunderstand.” He stopped his laughter, but couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
“Really?” She asked.
“Uh-huh.” Junsu smiled again and shook his head, trying to get rid of the grass on his hair, but it only made his hair messier.
“You won’t be able to get rid of it if you shake your head like that.” She said as she took off the grass from his hair.
Junsu held her hand and pulled her closer to him. “You didn’t wear your spectacles?” He only realised that her black-framed spectacles was missing.
“Yea, I only wear it during work for disguise purpose.” Ri In pouted, helplessly.
“Disguise?” He raised an eyebrow.
“My father says, the more nerdy I look, the more people would not bully me.” All this is bulls hit! The more nerdy you are, the more people would bully you!
“Really?” He laughed lightly, “But when you don’t have your spectacles on, you look better.” Without the ugly black-framed spectacles, Junsu was able to see her eyes clearly. She has really beautiful eyes, it’s sparkling and really mesmerising, and she understands his photos. It’s what makes her different from others.
“Thanks for the compliment.” Ri In rolled her eyes and took it as a joke.
“I’m serious about it.” Seeing that she doesn’t believe, he said sincerely, “You’re beautiful. A person’s beauty is not from her looks, it’s from her eyes and a kind heart.”
“Yah, do you think a girl in a gang is kind hearted?” Jang Ri In found his words funny.
“Because you understand my photos.” Junsu said with his low husky voice, as he looked at her deeply, making Ri In froze.
“Er...” Ri In took back her hand from Junsu’s, looking uneasy, “It’s getting late, I have to go home, thanks for the supper.”
“I’ll send you home.” Junsu stood up too.
“It’s ok.” Ri In shook her head, “I can go back on my own, annyeong.” Ri In left quickly without waiting for his reply.
Looking at her leaving backview, Junsu smiled, he felt contented.
Because, someone understands the hidden meaning in his photos...

It’s close to lunch break, and Jang Ri In eyes had not left the computer once. She’s been busy since morning, going through all the documents her colleagues threw her, and she have to answer to all their demands.
“Ri In, help me with this document, don’t forget, I need it by the end of today.” A female colleague left a stack of files on her table.
“Ri In, have you finished the document on Chang Ju Enterprise? It’s urgent; remember to pass it to by the end of the day!” Another male colleague said.
“Ri In! It’s lunch break, go and buy us our lunch!” Another female colleague demanded.
I . have . had . enough!!
Jang Ri In closed her eyes, feeling her tolerance hitting a point.
All these rotten people, ENOUGH! They threw their own work for her to do, and now they even want her to buy lunch for them?!?!?! Taking in a deep breath, she banged her fists on the table and stood up, when she was about to shout at her colleagues, another voice interrupted her...
“I’m sorry, I’m looking for Ri Innie, is she here?” A familiar figure stood by the door, his handsome face smirking, attracting everyone’s attention....

Jang Ri In closed her eyes, feeling her tolerance hitting a point.
All these rotten people, ENOUGH! They threw their own work for her to do, and now they even want her to buy lunch for them?!?!?! Taking in a deep breath, she banged her fists on the table and stood up, when she was about to shout at her colleagues, another voice interrupted her...
“I’m sorry, I’m looking for Ri Innie, is she here?” A familiar figure stood by the door, his handsome face smirking, attracting everyone’s attention....

“Ah! It’s Kim Junsu!” The female colleagues recognized him immediately, afraid of letting Junsu have a bad impression on them; they quickly tidied themselves up. Hearing his name being called, he let out a light laugh and smirked, it immediately made the females around him sighed, and he definitely captured all of their hearts.
“What are you doing here?” Seeing all her female colleagues being publicly ‘seduced’ by Junsu, Jang Ri In couldn’t help but be impressed by him.
All eyes fell on her immediately, if looks could kill, Ri In would be dead now.
“Here to bring you to lunch.” Junsu ignored everyone around him and made his way towards her, “Are you still busy?” He asked as he leaned on her table.
“Not… not really.” Jang Ri In swallowed her saliva, as she felt the jealous glare directing to her slowly killing her, she couldn’t help but glared at Junsu. She can totally predict what will happen later after lunch.
“Then let’s go, lunch’s on me.” Totally ignoring everyone around him, Junsu grabbed Ri In’s hand and pulled her towards the exit.
Ri In looked at their entwined hands, and turned to look at her female colleagues jealous glares… It brought shivers went down her spine. I’m so dead… I’m not going to have an easy life in future!
“What’s wrong?” Not realizing what he had done, he glanced at Ri In and couldn’t understand the look on her face.
“You just got me into deep sh it.” Ri In mumbled, lifted her head and shot him a death glare, “Don’t you have anything to do? Why did you come to my workplace?” She said, pissed off.
“To have lunch!” Junsu smiled and continued, “Or do you want to buy lunch for them?” Actually he had been standing outside the office for sometime; and of course, saw whatever happened inside.
“Huh?” What he said caught Ri In off-guard…
“Looks like you’ve really been working like a slave for them.” He shot her an amusing smile as he continued walking, “If they know that you’re from Jung Han Triad, I guess they would all pee in their pants.” Images of it flew past Junsu’s mind and he couldn’t help but smile.
“Don’t even talk about it.” Jang Ri In rolled her eyes, “As a gangster, I’m being bullied like that is bad enough, you don’t have to add oil to fire.”
“Eu kyang kyang kyang!” Junsu was totally amused by the look on her face and he laughed out his infamous laughter.
“Yah! Stop it!”
Seeing her rolled her eyes and looked away, he tried hard to stop laughing, but couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
“Actually, thinking from another point of view, this is also another experience.” Looking at her, as his gentle voice travelled to her ears.
“What do you mean?” She raised her eyebrow, not getting what he’s trying to say.
“Being the Heir of Jung Han Triad, nobody has ever ordered you around right?” Junsu shot a glance at her.
“Hmm, not much.” Other than her mother and father, no one had ever ordered her around before.
“That’s right. Being out in the society working for others, you can learn a lot from it, whatever you come across now, it will be so minor compared to the things you will face when you take over Jung Han Triad, just a little mistake you might lose your life.” He smiled at her as he explained thoughtfully, “Don’t be so rash in future, learn to observe what’s happening around you, you will learn a lot.”
This rash and short-tempered girl, if he were to let her shout at her colleagues just now, her future days at work would be harder than it already is.
Jang Ri In pouted and listened to him quietly, in her heart she finally understands, “So… you were helping me just now?” Ri In looked at him, “Hold back my anger, stay calm and observe, so nobody can have anything to go against me?”
“Smart!” Junsu rewarded her with a smile, in his heart, his admiration for her intelligence grown.
Ri In smiled too, “Weird, you don’t look like you’re older than me by a lot, but the things you know are so much more, and sometimes, it seems like you’ve been through a lot…?” Something flashed by in Junsu’s eyes.
Her question made Junsu smiled lightly, “Observing more, you will learn more, if you want to make a name for yourself in this society, you have to give up on a lot of things. You’re so much luckier, must learn to cherish it.”
Ri In stopped walking; she understood what he meant, her face showed annoyance, “You also think that if my father wasn’t the head of Jung Han Triad, I don’t have the ability of being the Heiress of Jung Han?”
Junsu stopped walking too, his handsome face turned to her, raising his eyebrows as he realized the anger on her face.
“I got what you mean, your route to the popularity you have now have gain a lot of jealousy from a lot of people, there’s even a lot of people waiting to see you fall, but what I’ve been through is the same as you, it’s not as easy as you think it is.” Wanting to be able to live up the abilities of being the Head of Jung Han Triad, and also to not ruin her father’s reputation, she gave in her best in whatever she learn, all the training she’s been through was as hard as others.
“I know.” His tone, amused. “You misunderstand what I meant, I actually envy you.” Seeing her angry face, he looked at her seriously.
“What do you mean?” Ri In raised one of her eyebrow, not having a clue what he meant.
“At least you didn’t lose your innocence.” He mumbled.
“What?” She couldn’t hear what he was saying.
“Nothing, stop being angry, I didn’t look down on you.” Junsu smiled and said, “Let’s go, if we continue standing here, we won’t be able to eat our lunch.” He continued pulling her with him.
“Yah yah, I can walk on my own.” Jang Ri In stopped walking again, “How long do you plan to hold my hand?!” She said as she glared at him.
“How about… Forever?” Junsu looked into her eyes deeply; he continued to stare, as something different flashed past in his eyes.
“Huh?” She stiffened as she was shocked by his words.
“Eu kyang kyang!” Looking at her stunned cute face, Junsu couldn’t help but hugged his stomach and laughed out loud, “I was just joking, look at your stun face!”
“You! You!” Ri In was embarrassed, her face turned red, as she stomped a foot on the floor. This person can never be serious for once!
“Eu kyang kyang kyang!” Looking at her red face, and her pouting lips, Junsu’s laughter got louder and louder, attracting a lot of stares from people around them.
Seeing him laugh like that, she wanted to continue being angry, but that smile and laughter of his was so attractive.
“Oi.” Realizing that Ri In was in a daze, he waved his hands in front of her face, “Are you okay?” Bending down, his handsome face went closer to Ri In’s, leaving very little space between them, the faint smell of cigar travelled to her nose, pulling her out of her reverie.
The overly handsome face, too close for Ri In’s liking, shocked her. She gasped and fell backwards.
“Be careful!” Junsu immediately circled his arms around her waist, pulling her towards him, “Why were you in a daze just now?” He looked into her eyes and asked, confused.
“Not…- nothing.” Ri In got herself out of his embrace, “You were so close suddenly, and I just got a shock.” She patted her chest, and smiled as if nothing happened. Weird, why is her heart beating so fast?
“Oh?” Junsu smiled and looked at her being flustered.
“What are you smiling at?!” Ri In shot him a look.
“Do I have a chance to take photos of you?” He wanted to take pictures of the pure and innocence on her face, and keep it safely with him.
“Eh?” Ri In blinked, “Are you sure?” He wants to take pictures of me?
“Uh-huh.”
“Oh, I’m okay with it.” Ri In shrugged. He’s so busy, who knows if he have time or not? Maybe he’s just saying it for fun.
“Let’s go have lunch. Don’t forget, you’re buying.” She turned and walked ahead of Junsu.
Junsu followed behind her, his lips curved into a smile; suddenly a thought came to his mind… It would be nice if he were to spend the rest of his life with her.

In the small restaurant, soft music were being played; it was gentle that it could make all the tired customers relax as the aroma of the food made people hungry too.
Jang Ri In scooped a big spoon of Japanese curry and brought it to her mouth, “Hmmm, it taste soo good!” She closed her eyes and munched slowly, lips curving into a smile enjoying the curry.
“Aren’t you going to eat?” Ri In tilted her head as she bit her spoon, looked at Junsu and then the untouched food in front of him.
“I’m not really hungry now, will eat it later.” He smiled and sipped his coffee.
“Oh…” She looked at him weirdly and nodded. Ri In lowered her head and continued eating as train of thoughts filled her mind.
These 2 weeks, Junsu had been buying her lunch every single day, sometimes, he even bought her dinner. What’s bothering her was, every time, he would just stare at her and not eat, and it’s as if he would be full just by looking at her.
Playing around with her food, Ri In looked up to look at Junsu, coincidentally, Junsu was looking at her too, and their eyes connected. Ri In quickly looked down at her food, and a thought flashed past her mind….. Oh gosh, it couldn’t be… right?
“What?” Noticing that her facial expression changed, Junsu lifted one of his eyebrows and asked, “The food is not nice…?”
“No, it’s nice.” Ri In quickly shook her head, “Er… you… erm……” She glanced at him, struggling… How…? Should I ask….?
“Hmm?”
“Er, You…. You….” Ri In swallowed the curry in her mouth, as she lowered her head, forcing herself to ask him the question that’s been bothering her…
“You didn’t fall in love me right…?”
The sudden question made Junsu choked on the coffee in his mouth, “Huh?!”
Jang Ri In blushed, embarrassed at Junsu’s reaction. Oh gosh, this is soo embarrassing!!
Junsu coughed and slowly he coughed out a laugh.
“Ah! Just treat it as I didn’t ask.” Ri In still felt her face hot from embarrassment as she glanced at him.
“I heard it, how can I treat it as you didn’t ask?” He smiled, as a tint of passion flashed past his eyes, “Why do you think I’ve fallen for you?”
“You and I only knew each other for about 2 weeks, and since the day we know each other, you’ve been bringing me out to lunch and dinner. You didn’t eat your food and only stared at me. Of course it would make me think the wrong way.” Ri In rolled her eyes at him. Alas, it was her who thinks too much…
“Oh…?” Junsu looked down as his smile became wider.
“But, it’s good that you don’t like me.” Ri In stuck out her tongue at Junsu playfully.
“Why?” He stared at her. Junsu didn’t miss out the sparkle in her eyes.
“I already have someone I like, he’s my fiancé.” Ri In said softly as she poked the meat in her curry, she blushed at the thought of the guy she loves.
“Oh?” Junsu eyes fallen as he looked at Ri In blushing, his low husky lost the gentleness, body stiffened, “He’s also someone from Jung Han Triad?”
“Yea.” She smiled and nodded, “We grew up together, and we’re really close with each other, we got engaged a year ago.”
“Really?” Junsu looked down, making it difficult to read what’s on his mind. “What if I really like you…?” He looked at her deeply, “What will you do?”
“Er….” Ri In froze; she didn’t know how to reply him. Her eyes looked everywhere, hiding from the burning stare Junsu had on her.
Observing her reaction, the seriousness in his eyes disappeared, once again, the laziness in him came back. “I was just joking, why? Did you really believe it?” Junsu chuckled.
“You!” She glared at him and said, “You jerk, how dare you play me!” She was angry but she knew she couldn’t do anything about him, he was always like that.
Junsu laughed, “Don’t worry, there is friendship between a woman and a man.”
“Hmmph!” Ri In looked away, just when she was about to speak, her phone rang. She grabbed her phone and pressed the ‘answer’ button, not forgetting to give Junsu one death glare. Junsu laughed and accepted it; he lowered his head and drank his coffee, his smile, slowly fading.
“What? Ok, I’ll be right there.” Slamming her phone shut, Ri In stood up immediately, “I’m sorry, I have to go.”
“What happened?” Junsu asked as he held her hand, holding her back.
“The brothers in Jung Han is fighting with another gang, I need to get there immediately.” She flunked Junsu’s hands away, wanting to leave.
“Wait. I’ll go with you.”
