Sure looks and feels solid. If you hit it with a hammer, it shatters, But an experiment has been taking place in the departmental foyer at The University of Queensland since 1927 to show it really is a fluid, just a very thick one. So far, 8 drops of pitch have formed and dripped over the years -- to date, not one drop has been caught in the act of falling. The last was even under electronic surveillance, but the webcam had a hiccup and the recording was lost.
This reminds me a lot of work. Which I should be doing right now.
