He complained he didn't score as well as he'd thought he would, given he's got linguistics papers published, but to be fair, it's not really a quiz on linguistics, per se, as much as it is about language families/histories and their current political statuses -- language trivia more the proper domain of casual linguaphiles than academic linguists (THAT quiz would have questions about deep syntax and Jakobson's discussion of aphasia and voice onset time and minimal pairs and vowel harmony and markers of evidentiality and ergativity and why Pinker is a wanker... hey, maybe I should write that quiz? Except nobody would care :))
