Recap, sort of... or, the weekend of bread pudding.

LJ just ate my rather longish journal post, and I should actually be doing work at some point today.  I did promise Britt to update more, so here we go...

Friday's outing had its ups and downs... Food - yummy, with the highlights being the corned beef rolls and my harvest bread pudding.  Company - quite good.  I really enjoying spending time with A's circle of friends, even in the meet-up environment.  The vibe is generally laid back, and I rarely feel the provocation to put on an act.  Venue - left something to be desired.  It was not particularly large group friendly, and was EXTREMELY loud.  Definitely a middle of the week at 6pm sort, rather than 8pm on a Friday.
The evening's end was very cozy.  Tentative plans were in place to head out again, but I ultimately stayed in after 11pm.

Saturday was pretty much exclusively devoted to performance preparation.  In general, I tend to be scattered and a bit disorganized so I was proud of myself, having corralled all my bits into one bag and not forgetting anything important.  I was actually *gasp* the first one ready.  We were extra cute, especially with my new flower concoction on my head.  I really need to get better about having pictures taken...  The actual dancing went well, and the crowd was super supportive and involved, which always makes it more enjoyable.  AF is a pretty big deal for us, because we have a chance to perform a six different numbers, with costume changes and everything.  Afterwards I ate some communal food, including the best madeline I've had in a while... and I drank about a bottle of mead.  Yay mead!

Last week when I was at Ulta, they mentioned a bare minerals event happening on Sunday.  Since both K and I have uber-sensitive skin, we wear alot of mineral makeup for performance.  They've released some new kits lately, and we were hoping to have the makeup artist try some new looks, especially for eyes.  I scheduled the appointment on Saturday, and they appeared to know exactly what I was talking about.  Too bad when we arrived at the store they had NO IDEA!  We got a free lip gloss and foundation sample out of it, but otherwise it was pretty much a waste of time.  I tried out of the Smoky V eye... the brush was pretty much a joke, and I wouldn't use colors that purple for smoking anyway - it washed me out and made a mess on my face.
I did, however, pick up an iPod docking station for $9.99 to use at my desk or at home!  I was recently gifted a squee exciting loveliness of a 30GB video iPod, and I plan to make use of it on a regular basis =)  I had mexican bread pudding for "lunch" - uber yum.

Dinner at DocChey's was lots of fun.  I met a really cool new person who swears she already knew me :P and afterwards watched some neat anime called HellGirl.  Definitely going to have to obtain for my own personal usage =)

All in all, a very acceptable weekend.  I continue to be amazed at the oddness of my emotions, which are like a crazy roller coaster at the oddest of times.
