The Proposal

"Three days ago, I loathed you. I used to dream about you getting hit by a cab." - Andrew, The Proposal

i like movies.
i like the beach.
i like Christmas cookies.
i like history books.
i like tea with honey.
i like water polo.
i like daydreaming.
i like my bangs.
i like the smell of the air after it rains.

and as utterly ridiculous as it sounds and is, i like what could of been.

i think i fell in love with the story and person i created in my head. i don't think that person is real. but it's nice to believe they do, even if "the best part of believe is the lie." it's nice to believe that happy endings exist and that "fairy tales" come true. It's nice to believe that this could play out like a movie in the end.

if my life was a movie someday in the future we would meet again. you would realize that i am the most stubborn person on the planet. you would realize that i am terrified of being rejected/ having my heart broken/ what you would say. you would tell me i'm an idiot and tell me you love me. and then we would live happily ever after.

but life isn't a movie, no matter how much we like to pretend it could be. and therefore that will never happen. i will probably never see you again and all the worrying and caring about what you would do or say or what i would do or say if we met again will of been in vain. i doubt you would even recognize me or remember my name.

this is why we like movies like the proposal so much. because all the things we wish would happen in real life happen.

that's why they're movies and this is real life.
