eyes2theskye and I had a wonderful Memorial weekend. I had to work Saturday evening at the banquet hall, but I made $199 in 7 hours, so that didn't bother me all THAT much. Sunday we went to see the Barnum and Baily Circus in Hershey...no bigtop though, because it was in the Giant Center, the same place the Hershey Bears play ice hockey. It was fun, and I ran into one of my preschool coworkers and her boyfriend babysitting one of our preschoolers, so that was funny.
eyes2theskye kept saying how it was boring him, but I kept catching him smiling. To clarify, the song and dance, and "animals walking in circles" bored him, but he, as we all were, was thrilled by the acrobatics. There were awesome balance acts and polewalkers, who had amazing arm strength and climbed up poles as if it was nothing, then did a flip or two before catching themselves on anoter pole, with their legs, upside down. Craziness.
Monday we went to
Knoebels Grove and rode lots of rides for not so much cash. There is free parking and free entrance to the park, plus free shows. I danced the polka in front of an audience, along with the 20 other people who dared get up to dance. My date stayed sitting. We bought $20 worth of ride tickets, and at the end of the day, just as it was starting to rain, bought an additonal 20 cents worth so we could ride the Phoenix roller coaster again. We bought about $6 worth of amusement park treats(ice cream and a funnel cake) and each played one game that cost 50 cents. So all in all we spent about $27.20 for a fun day for two at the park. :)
I need to get up to bed, but I figured since I was online and remembered, I should update.
Happy Memorial Day!!
