An example of some of the street art done by the Tacoma Puppetistas, an activist art group based out of Tacoma, WA. They make a lot of satirical paper-mâché heads of political figures and really elaborate protest signs all for the sake of demonstrations and marches. This particular piece was done for Lt. Watada's trial demonstration a few weeks ago outside of Ft. Lewis.
The one on the ground on the bottom right is called Stealth Madonnna & Children, by David Gilmour. It's two pieces placed like so, in the silhouette of a stealth B-2 bomber.
This was a really awesome book and box done by a great woman named Alice Dubiel. The book contained her own artistic prints of many artifacts that were lost and looted from the Iraq Museum after the US invasion into Baghdad a few years ago. The box was a box used in the military to transfer tapes and videos. She decorated the box with beeswax and a map of Iraq.
Anyway, I won't be doing any more of these in a long time. I met some cool people but Christ, artists are flaky and stubborn and the anti-war ones are especially passionate, sometimes even insane.
