voglio birre del vino al ristorante

Was at a meeting today, and at the end the man chairing it asked to have a meeting with me. He then asked if there was anywhere private we could go. He then said that the Head of Service had been alerted that on the 22nd of May, someone had made a library account for Gordon Brown, 10 Downing Street SW1, and that that someone appeared to be me. I was creating a dummy account to show a new relief worker how we do registrations, but I wonder what on earth they thought I was doing.
Working 9-1 tomorrow, then that's me finished for nearly two weeks as we go on holiday. Our holiday will take in three foreign countries. I've been looking forward to it all year and now I've got that Christmas Eve feeling. I realise it's the kind of thing normal people all did when they were at university but it makes me feel very grown-up.

Saturday: early Eurostar to Paris/day in Paris
Sunday: day in Paris/overnight train (the "Stendahl") to Florence
Monday-Thursday: 2 days doing Florence and the Renaissance and all that, 2 days exploring the Tuscan countryside
Friday: day in Florence/late flight to Gatwick, crash at Kasia's mum's house in Croydon
Saturday: back to Gatwick, early flight to Bilbao, Neil & Laura's wedding!
Sunday: early flight to Gatwick, home

At the last minute I decided to book leave for the Monday as well. I'm going to be very glad I did that.
I keep wondering what the sleeper train will be like. We paid extra to be in a cabin of 4 instead of a cabin of 6. Hopefully we'll get another mild-mannered couple and not stag/hen participants, loud Americans, shady pickpockets who'll slit our throats, &c.
Please do leave a comment if you have any tips/experiences/expertise about Florence/Tuscany.
We're at the mercy of Lonely Planet's gloomy nihilist Damien Simonis, whose pessimistic prognoses became a running joke when I went to Barcelona with Gareth. He's on top form again here; "July is to be avoided as the weather is insufferable"; "upon reaching the Duomo, the first major disappointment is that..."
