Did a DJing job on Saturday. Gig in a pub. The trouble was that the gig in a pub had pretensions towards being a clubnight, and I was saddled with that aspect of it. The adversity of the conditions was furthered by the best band being first on and the headliners being execrable. If it had been the Buffalo Bar it would have worked, but I was put on some time after the event was all finished. Half an hour after they finished, I played a set to the ten or so people who hadn't gone home yet, a variety of musicians carrying amps into taxis and the odd punter who'd popped in for one last pint before bedtime. This is why I've retired.
