today: an update on job search and other things

May 13, 2008 15:11

I had an interview for a Grassroots Campaigns Inc. job, who is currently being hired by the ACLU. I would be collecting donations that would go to pay for lawyers who work on cases brought to the ACLU; usually the plaintiffs can't afford lawyers, so the pre-paid by ACLU lawyers are their only option.

Surprise, surprise, given that I worked for GCI in 2004 for the DNC as a Field Manager, I got the job.

I still applied to two places as a waitress, Prickly Pear and Championhouse.

I also sent Helena .pdf files. It took me almost 45 minutes, but the guy only charged me for one print credit. Either he's really nice or he thought my chubby ass was cute.

Also, Wilson thought my abstract could be submited to SFN. I have to work on it today because they're due tomorrow. That's exciting that he thought I was eligible.

I guess that's the random update. I start my observation day for the ACLU job tomorrow, so in generally I'll only be available to hang out on the weekends (I work 2-10 during hte week, ick).
