Oppressively Hot Update
Today was spontaneously awesome. Amanda, my roommate at Albion, called me about my availability this week to shop in Ann Arbor. She was busy this weekend, so the only possible day was today. She hopped in her car (without A/C, in weather that felt like ninety eight degrees) and drove an hour and a half. So we shopped together and bought quite a few things, including a cute little chair on wheels. That chair will cause serious injury (and hilarity) when we're inebriated.
I didn't end up going to Rob's house tonight. I was going to but Amanda was here and I just didn't feel like rushing her out of town after she drove all the way here, or pushing Kyle out (Kyle wasn't invited) since he drove us downtown and wanted to see me. I hope Rob isn't mad at me. I don't even have his cell number to call him to explain what happened.
I'm really tempted to push my kitties into my room, since it's the only room in the house that has a temperature under eighty-five degrees. It's just oppressively hot. I know it probably won't make me sick since I do live with them anyway, but they'll probably hate being in that little room. Maybe if I keep the food and water dishes there they'll be motivated to stay?
I also got a savings account today. I real savings account with the Michigan Educator's Credit Union. So now I can't spend that thousand dollars I just put into that account! The woman who set up my account asked me if I wanted an atm card for the account. I was tempted to get one for "just in case" situations...however, I know it's a bad idea and that the point of the account was to lock up all my money so I couldn't spend it, (thus a "savings" account).
Now all I have to do is set up a checking account over at Citizen's Bank before I get to Albion. In theory, I could set up one there (since Citizen Bank is the only bank in Albion other than Chemical Bank) however, taking care of it before school starts is probably a better idea.
