Sixth Storm - Return of the Light

Hmm...perhaps I can return to gardening now...

I think I know what to plant. Some of those roses Konan spoke fondly of...and perhaps a white Daffodil for Toshirou...

You're going to plant flowers?

((poor kid needs to interact more))

I am indeed. I've already planted several, though I fear they may not last long after the prolonged darkness.

I see...may I...help you? If it's not too rude of me to ask...

A pleasure to meet you, Tomoe-san. I am Ukitake Jushirou -bows as well, less deeply as is the custom-

Are you experienced in gardening?

A pleausre to meet you as well, Ukitake-san.

No, not really. Though once I visited a greenhouse and learned the basics.

Ah, -taichou, actually...I am a captain in my home world, after all... -slight chuckling-

Well, then perhaps I should show you what it is I'm doing, yes? -he hands a pair of gloves to her, smiling-

Ah you're a captain?

Somehow he doesn't look like it. He seems so nice

*she smiles and takes the gloves, putting them on*

Yes. Captain of the 13th Division of the Gotei 13. -he nods-

-he kneels down to the earth below and takes his spade in one hand and a seed in another. He motions for her to watch his hands as he stabs the spade into the soft soil, tilling at the soil in a circling motion before lifting up a small portion and placing the seed gently within. He then buries the seed and smooths out the soil-

See? Now you try. -holds the spade out for her-

*she blinks a bit at that, curious, but nods*

*she watches closely and then takes the spade from him. Her movements are a bit sloppy, those of a person that doesn't have much experience, but she manages to do the same. She smiles at him* It'll be nice to see the flowers that will grow.

Indeed it will...these will grow into white daffodils. They are the favorite flower of a friend of mine here, you see...though he never admits it.

And now for the amazing part!

-Jushirou smiled and hovered his hand over the two fresh planters and it began to glow softly. Beneath his palm, moisture collecting from the water vapor in the air into a concentrated ball. The water then slowly drips into the two spaces, feeding them evenly-

They are? Then are you giving the flowers to your friend?

*her eyes widen at that and she watches in awe. She had no idea there were other people with strange abilities like her* Amazing!

-Jushirou chuckled a bit and smiled contentedly-

Not exactly a traditional Shinigami technique, and nothing you can learn in the academy...but there you have it. The secret to my green thumb!

-he let out a relaxed sigh-

And I don't think I'll be giving them to him, no. I doubt he'll accept them. But he might just wander to the garden a bit more often once he comes back.

Shinigami? What's that?

I see *she smiles* These flowers will make people happy.

Shinigami? Well, I suppose you could call us death gods...but the term Soul Reaper is more accurate to what we actually do.

And yes...I hope these flowers will bring some measure of happiness to this place.
