We went last night. Surprisingly, there is still one open in Connecticut. It's in Mansfield. (For those of you not in CT, that's out in the middle of nowhere about 60 miles from New Haven.) It was fabulously expensive, right on the level of the multiplexes for food and such, so we've learned three lessons from our trip last night.
1. Bring your own refreshments - I spent more for the food and such than we spent to get in.
2. Start your car between shows - At the end of the second movie, I had a bit of trouble getting Paul's van to start. That's because of lesson number 3...
3. Don't go and see a three-hour movie at the drive-in - we went to the drive-in to take Laura to see Ratatouille. It was very entertaining. It started around 9:15 and ended about 11:00. We put Laura in the back of the van and settled in to watch the second film, which started at 11:10. It was Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Which was good. And fun, if a bit confusing. And Three Freaking Hours Long. We left the drive-in at 2:15. We pulled back onto Hellstrom at just about 3:30. Laura was up at 7:30. I'm tired.
