Last night I saw a bit of history being made. It was the end of live performances.
Cell phones were abound. I saw flashes and half of Elliot Hall lit up just from the screens of people either talking on their phones or receiving/creating text messages. It almost seemed like no one there cared about Ben Folds and his band playing a great set on stage. There were those that acted like this was just a stop between the dorms and the bars. I am assuming most of these people were Purdue students. Well, they were pathetic. I really hope for a re-do or something on the concert. Then there were who I think were the IU guys right in front of me. I cant say I have anything against people of the gay orientation, but when you are biting each others' nipples - that is the line in the sand that makes people intolerant of your actions, not your lifestyle. I would think the same thing if it was a guy and a girl. If it was two hot girls, though, I would take pictures and pour a bucket of water on them.
Anyhoo, I just hope there is some sort of backlash on cell phones so that my children (and I hope/pray I never have any, this is just for the spirit of the story) may enjoy a true concert performance.
And I know what you are thinking; I hope/pray he never has any children either. I think we agree on something and you should buy me a beer.
