World travel!

Jan 16, 2009 22:39

I've just applied to the 2009 STA student travel internship? I randomly stumbled across it online and decided why the fuck not? They send me around to foreign places to document the cultural happenings of different countries and so on. Fun! I may be crazy enough to do it XD. Plus I get nutso with a camera around strange people :3 yaaay.

Work drama is hilarious, btw. The trend going on at my SBUX store currently is, forgetting when your shifts start?! Seriously, a girl called in 20 minutes AFTER her shift started, saying, "Oh I completely forgot I worked today! I'm so confused what's going on??" -__- ;;; she said she was all the way in the East Bay and could show up for work possibly in an hour and a half. My shift supervisor, was PISSED, clearly because she would not be there in time to relieve him. To go to lunch!! AND SHE DIDN'T CARE. "Well, why do I have to come all the way there just so you can go to lunch?" First of all, he's working an 8 hour shift, he deserves a friggin' break? Plus he's my homeboy?! And any friend of mine gettin' snubbed like that is going to hear about it from me. Anywho, story ends with my sup finding someone else to work for her, and he told her to not bother coming in at all. I secretly want her to be let go so I can get some more hours XD. Eviilll.

So my endless and boring search for a significant other drones on. >_<. I seriously have no life except work and my studies. I went to visit my friend in Aptos last Tuesday. We invited some people over to help us make a gourmet dinner of Chipotle Barbecued chicken, potatoes au gratin and...churros. My friend's churros turned out great, except the recipe only made us 7 whole churros instead of the 30 that it promised. FAIL. My one churro was tasty though XD goddammit. So that was the most exciting part of the week, especially when my friend's Dad came down to talk to us about days of old and the 'cheese mafia' of San Jose, CA. Those darn Italian gangstas. See I do things! XD.

I can't wait until February/March though, upcoming raves promise much fun. That'll be interesting! Although I really need to concentrate on studying and getting to Japan as soon as possible >_<. Trips to Japantown's Nijiya Market and such can only sustain my hunger for a country for so long. Not to mention my hunger for the country's men, mmhmm. XD
