Log Entry: Well, crap.

Things are gettin bad here. No one's still said or found who caused the fire.

Then some idiot's showed up to try to arrest Shoon for freeing slaves down south 30 years ago. He musta done it after the war. I guess I wasn't the only one who left Falena back then. Anyways, I don't need to see my old friends and fellow vets getting chased down by garmless bounty hunters trying to track a decades old bounty. The amount offered is enough to make any one hungry enough for money do anything to make that bounty. And I know Shoon can take care of himself, but he and so many people here are so young, I don't wanna see them get hurt.

But I figured, I'm the only one here who's actually the age Shoon should be. So I told the hunter I was him, transformed by magic. He didn't respond right away but he told me not to go anywhere.

Which I don't want to, 'cause I don't want him or anyone else to get arrested while I'm gone. But I'm frustrated, 'cause I still need to get to Vinay del Zexay to get my letters sent (and a new rod bought). At least I gave a copy of my message to my crew to Captain Kika of the Grishend, since she's sailing south on a run to Kanakan, and she can leave it at a couple ports before she cuts through Dunan.

Now, that Knight Percival, the one that ran the Kissing Booth at the Spring Festival, he got himself hurt and BAD. Stabbed multiple times by the looks of it, and whoever did it caught him while he was out of his armor. The other Zexen Knight (I guess they're Zexen knights; they wear Zexen's colors) Borus got real mad and tried to blame Ernst for it 'cause he was nearby. I'm glad I could stop him from attackin' him--there wasn't even any blood on Ernst. Borus is quite a hothead; didn't seem like that last time I met him, but he was relaxing in the tavern then. 'Course, I don't know nothing about being hot-headed. When I was his age I'd probably be attacking the furniture for looking at me funny. ("But the wall called me 'flat'!")

Other people have been sporting bandages and the like too. Cleo's nursing her shoulder. Rumors say Kathy got herself into a kafuffle the other day. I think that privateer Hervey's still in the infirmary after a fight he got himself into right after he showed up. Well, and the laundry lady's walking with a limp, but hopefully that was just an accident. But anyways, who's fighting with them? Is it all the same person? How 'come they ain't telling anybody else? Is it the same person who set the fire? Are they in on it, or they just too dang proud to admit they got beat?

In the meantime, more people will get hurt, as long as nobody's talking, so we don't know who to look out for.

Something's gotta be done about this, but what? Who'd listen to me, anyways?

At least one supposed disaster seems to have turned out okay... there was someone skulking around the walls that was worrying the guards, but I think that turned out to be Bob. Went fishing with him down by the river near Iksay--he's some kinda shapechanger, looks like a cross between a wolf and a man... sorta like some of those kobolds I've seen in ports, but bigger and meaner. He's a jerk but he ain't a bad guy, I'm pretty sure.

I think he might've given the Prince's mom a scare, though. Someone left a dead blade bunny by her door a couple weeks ago, and I saw her talkin' to him later (with a big dead warthog on his back) looking kinda disturbed. I talked to her, briefly. She seems more.... delicate than I thought she'd be. Kinda gentle, almost. But good with words... she could probably out-maneuver Lucretia or ol' Raja (may she rest in peace) in saying little and meaning a lot. She was also trying to help with Percival, but it's clear she ain't made for bloody work. It's hard to match what I see of her in my mind with what I saw happen at Lordlake when I was a kid.

Oh, and on top of everything else, Cecile lost one of her dogs. Poor kid.
