an update from ... NEW JERSEY!!!
So I am here in New Jersey, at Sandy Hook. It's great! The weather has been kind of sucky, but this place is really nice. The waves aren't like in OBX, but this place is beautiful. When it's clear I can see the NYC skyline, Coney Island, and Staten Island. Sunday I got to ride the ferry to New York with some other staff, we're supposed to talk to people on the boat who are going to Sandy Hook and explain about what's open and give them maps and stuff. Well, the weather sucked, so only a few people were on the boat. We spent most of the time just sitting around and taking pictures of stuff that we passed, like umm ... the Statue of Liberty! So I saw Manhattan, and was docked in Manhattan, but not allowed to get off the boat. Some other time ... Anyway, I am really enjoying my job, and the people that I work with and the people who live in my building. It's so much fun and I can't wait for the weather to get nice and for visitors to show up that I can talk to. The only thing that I am not looking forward to is the LSAT, but that's not work related. Another cool thing, my boss is really into Irish music and she plays the bodhran and the tin whistle, and goes to session on Sundays at this local pub. I went last Sunday with a bunch of my housemates and the band was really good, and I danced and people loved it and it was so much fun. And I have a new favorite beer, Smithwicks (or something like that). Oh, and there's a Coast Guard base on the Hook, and let me just say that Coasties are hot!
