I don't know any of your characters' canons, but I have noticed that trying to thread with Raven can be very difficult. His posts tend to all be the same, centering around the bar, and that makes it extremely hard to tag, I think.

Yeah, I've been trying to get him out of the bar more often by putting him in other people's threads and also doing stuff like the Secret Santa in the mall and the log with Velma in the coffee shop. I will work more on moving him around.

Sure thing! I also wanted to say that sometimes I think the threads get repetitive too, like maybe you forgot what came before? I think when he threaded with Lumi he asked her to turn off the cold twice. It's a problem I also have, so I thought I'd mention it.

Yes, that's a problem for me especially if I am tagging off my phone. It is near impossible to expand the thread on it and if it's been more than an hour or so I can promise I forgot what was said. I have been trying to be more careful about that.

I have to agree with Glass on this one. I often find it really difficult to keep threads going with Raven, because there's no real tension or conflict. Generally it's just drinking and shooting the breeze with an easygoing, friendly bartender. Maybe try to have Raven be in a bad mood one of those times, to give him some more depth and intrigue?

Raven is actually a lot more than an easy going, sleazy-charmed, wannabe fool. The trouble is...he doesn't often allow others to see that side of him. There are some characters who have broken that fascade on him--Sancia, Martel, Odessa, and Judith are the ones that come to mind. When the "accent" is dropped in conversation, it can be assumed that he's letting more of himself out.

I have been playing him a lot outside of the bar lately, but I'm not sure it would really be IC for him to suddenly just drop the "act"...unless he had a status effect or was threatened or such.

I can send him out to the woods to hunt, or to the mall to shop, but to characters who he isn't close to, he will deliberately keep them at a distance. I think he needs to build more relationships for others to see the less "casual" side of him and getting him out of his work environment--where he is "expected" to wait on others and shoot the breeze--will help.

As someone who plays characters who do a lot of "acting," I see where you're coming from on that front. It makes the character's motivation easier to understand, and the challenge is definitely a big one.

It's hard balance to manage. I think a status effect where he reverts back to "Schwann" might help people see more of his personality is in order.
