America is just an absolutely fabulous derp. I could see him as the lead in a shounen series. Whether that's accurate to canon, I'm not sure, but I like it.

Sumire is adorable and keeps Lucy sane. This is something of a difficult task, so kudos.

I just had one thing I wanted to say about Iris- remember that she's the woman who seduced four scientists and turned them into her pets. She's incredibly sexy, and incredibly dangerous: think femme fatale, maybe, with a sci-fi twist. I don't think you can be too cruel with her, but it's that sort of cruel that involves mind games and medical equipment. She's clever and subtle.

I know you're worried about her, but she's not violent- she's manipulative, and cruel, and a sexy bitch. I think if you keep that in mind, that it's a lot of game-playing, you'll find it easier. Does that make sense?

Oh yeah! I never thought of her as the violent type, since she likes her men to get their hands dirty. Does she come as potentially being violent? Should I tone it down if so?

Maybe the only time I could see her getting violent was when she got angry, and only then if she could be sure she wouldn't lose her advantage. So you don't have to worry about that- but she needs to be bitchier than what I'm getting out of her ATM. Um. More of a schemer.

scruffyfeathers - I'm pretty comfortable with his voice because even if he's gotten a little distant from canon, I feel like it was a natural progression. Boy's been here a year and a half, changes should happen, etc. But I STILL WELCOME CRIT PLEASE. :O

hahimafiaboy - I AM WORRIED SO MUCH ABOUT SCREWING HER UP because my first couple of months with her were rocky and I'm filling in ten whole years of blank space that we only get hints about. So any crit would be really appreciated!

jump-my-shark - I haven't been playing him in a structured setting for very long so NEW VOICE JITTERS. It's a little difficult to find a balance with him between "RAEG AND YELLING" and "behaves like normal human being" because he only has occasion to do the latter in very few situations canon-wise, like during Choice, so... yes. AGAIN CRIT HELPFUL GIMME GIMME. ;.;

luvmysugadaddy - so new I'm still tagging around in her intro post. 8D;;; It's been hard to convey that she's always MOVING AND NOT STAYING STILL AND ENERGETIC, but I've got some ideas on how to improve and show

OKAY so I had a thought about your problem with Squalo. Sort of. There's sort of a middle ground between the "behaving like a normal person" and the rage where he's not really one or the other, which I guess is like RAEG but turned down a slight notch. Just put the "VOOOOOOOII" in lower caps and that's still sort of him yelling but not...quite so much rage? TYL!Squalo is a little quieter and more serious, I think, though that may just be me just because of the generally more serious tone of that arc anyway. Anyway it's a good compromise between those two for those situations where he can't really be super calm and serious but the over-the-top screaming isn't quite appropriate either.

Does that make sense?

It dooooooees. And yeah, I've been trying something sort of like that. He says "heeeeeeey" and draws out words and randomly capslocks in situations where he's not otherwise inclined to be a SUDDEN BALL OF RAEG. I don't want to overuse "vooooiiiii" because he seems to use it in very specific ways and I don't want to over do it. It'd be like sticking a "hahi" in every one of Haru's comments, you know? So I try to find creative ways around that. |D

And no, it's not just you. He IS more mild TYL, but he's also more mild in the novel stories he appears in with Dino, and the thing all those scenes have in common is that they're not scenes with conflict in them. So I want to show that he IS capable of behaving himself in social situations where he's expected to, but that he also has a VERY SHORT TEMPER. And that's where my problem lies, pretty much; I don't want him to get soft and complacent like Tibarn did. Cause while it made sense for Tibarn, it doesn't for Squalo.

Yeah, I haven't reread the arcs in their entirety in awhile, so I don't remember Squalo's particular speech patterns in anymore. I kind of recall him doing it in moments where he's outraged or annoyed, or to get somebody's attention.

Okay, so maybe the VOOOOI is a conflict-situation thing? I think maybe you could try getting it across somehow with brackets (Have I told you how much I love brackets?) at how annoyed he is versus how he is trying to behave himself?
