"Cap! C'mon, boy, get outta there."

Bucky watched amusedly as Cap continued snuffling around in his clothes for a few more seconds before bounding over to his side, tail wagging excitedly. It had taken just over a week to get back to base and the dog had been with Bucky the entire time: curling up next to him to sleep at night, laying at his feet around the camp, trotting along behind him obediently as they made their way through the mountains.

He'd been worried, at first, wondering if it was a good idea to bring an untrained dog with them when they were supposed to be staying hidden, but Cap had turned out to be the perfect covert-ops dog. He stayed quiet and didn't move when they had to lay low, wasn't bothered by gunfire and had even leapt into the fray during one of their skirmishes. At one point he'd dragged a full-grown deer back to camp--Bucky didn't know how the dog managed that--and they'd had fresh meat for the first time in months. He'd even saved their lives, once, sinking his teeth into Bucky's shirt and not allowing him to walk through what they later discovered had been a minefield.

The Commandos adored him. Phillips had taken one look at him when they'd gotten back to base, rolled his eyes and turned his back on Bucky as if to say, 'I don't want to know,' which was basically a stamp of approval.

"You know, most of the time I think you're smarter than I am, but sometimes I wonder," Bucky commented fondly, reaching down to scratch behind Cap's ears. The dog had an undue fascination with his clothes--to the point where Bucky knew exactly who to look for when he found himself missing socks or underwear.

"Come on, let's go check in with the resident genius."

Howard Stark was the military's greatest weapon. He created brilliant communications devices, had a sharp mind forr strategy, supplied the Commandos with all of the latest technology and had a shameless desire to get in Bucky's pants.

"James!" he said delightedly as Bucky walked into the lab, Cap trotting at his heel. "Here I'd thought you wouldn't be in for another few days. You continue, as always, to surprise me."

"Nice to see you too, Stark," Bucky replied wryly. "I'm just here to pick up those transponders Phillips ordered."

"All work, no play," Howard sighed. But he retrieved the devices all the same, handing a small box to Bucky before sidling up next to him with a grin, sneaking his arm around to rest a hand boldly on his hip.

"You know, I know this great little restaurant down in the city. Quiet, intimate... You should go with me. Just the two of--ow!"

Bucky burst out laughing as Howard leapt away from him with a yelp, rubbing at his leg as Cap bit him. Cap got between them with a growl, teeth bared and ears flat as he faced off against Howard.

"What the devil--"

"Looks like Cap doesn't like you," Bucky grinned. "And he likes everyone."

"Clearly he has no taste," Howard muttered, scowling at the dog.

Bucky just snickered, leaning down to pet the disgruntled canine.

"Good boy."

Awww, don't mind your failing at anon. Also, a jealous Steve biting Howard Stark is about the best thing I've ever read, lol. AWESOME.

LOL, Steve, stop snuffing Bucky's cloths. Tony was right. You are obsessing.
But what can I say? I love it when Steve is being possessive or getting jealous.
