How awesome is that there is a band called The Band? They got tired of their original name The Hawks and started going by The Band. I've confused my parents alot by referencing The Band. I'll start talking about The Band and they'll ask "which band" to which I reply, "you know, The Band".
Aside from that, I've survived a hot Tallahassee summer making 3 A's and a B. Also, I've officially made it to be 21 years of age. I'm willing to think there were alot of bets against that, but ha ha I survived, yo!
Got a great bounty of presents, the best of which were the Record Player stack of DVD's fit to satisfy even my appetite for films temporarily. Now that I've got the record player I'm absolutely bananas (I can spell that thanks to Ms. Stefani) for buying and listening to records. Like film, it may not be the best medium for the preservation of sounds, but it does sound strangely better. Even when the quality fades, there is the magic that occurs between the needle and the record. The vibrations that are set off are more pleasing to the ears. Just like when a movie is viewed on a projector, the interaction of light and film makes things look better.
Also ventured up to Fairport, N.Y. with Colleen to hang with her family. It was pretty freaking awesome. Perhaps the best part was that the weather was similar to our fall. Absolutely relaxing week. Got to see Niagra Falls and alot of small towns. New York was freaking sweet in other words. Colleen and I had a blast. I almost wish that I never left.
Now, back in Tallahassee, everything seems to be back on track. Work is back in full swing, classes are getting started to get ready about thinking to begin, and the tried and true move in process is starting.
My thoughts drift back to wishing for more free time. In the interim between class and work, however short it may be, I find peace by cranking up the Jazz and classic rock and the films that stay close to heart.
Ok, time to quit stealing time from the university and get back to work at 1:37 AM on this hot August night.
