F.A.Q.

GEN. RULESCREDITING: I'm very lax when it comes to my layouts and rules and such because my layouts are crap..., but I do urge you to credit either minolta or capitol in a public place on your journal, if for no other reason than to have other people link back to the original source so they can use the layout too. Sharing is caring! /shot

EDITING: You are allowed to edit whatever you want, just please don't redistribute the code in any way, and don't claim the codes as your own. That's not really fair.

ADSI do not code my layouts for Plus Accounts. It is impractical for me, seeing as I have a paid account and do not see ads anywhere on Livejournal. :') BUT if you are as annoyed by ads as I am, you can always downgrade to a Basic account. If you stay with your Plus Account, keep in mind that I will not answer any advertisement-related questions. I deny their existence.

HEADERSTo add a header to one of my layouts, just append this code at the bottom of everything:

.headerimage {
position: relative;
width: XXXpx;
height: XXXpx;
margin: 0 auto 0 auto;
background-image: url("www.urlofimage.com");
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}

Make sure you replace www.urlofimage.com with your image url, and fill in the width and height.

NAV STRIPThe navigation strip (aka this baby) is a particular nuisance that I find to be rarely useful. In some of the layouts I code, it actually breaks the layout. If you wish to turn it off, go here in your preferences and click off this checkbox. No more nav strip!

COMMUNITYThis community is 'watch only', which means you don't join, but you can add the comm to your friends list to keep up with my updates.

The current layout at this community, and at my graphics community as well, is not available to the public, for various reasons, but the main one being that it isn't a very good layout for anything other than layout comms. Trust me, you wouldn't want it for your personal journal.

CREDIT / OUTSIDE LINKSMost of my tiny icons are either from FamFamFam, damnicons, or _excentric_.

If you are just getting started with Flexible Squares, or wish to understand parts of coding better, cartonage has some extraordinary CSS guides, and s2flexisquares has lots of good links and things you should check out.

If you are new to LiveJournal and have some very basic questions, please check out LiveJournal's FAQ page.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have, as long as you keep it related to my own personal layouts. If you do have a problem, please leave a detailed (the longer the better!) comment describing the problem you have encountered (and specify the layout), and I will try and get back to you as soon as possible.

All comments are screened until answered. Comments cleaned on 01/01/09.
P.S. I am extraordinarily slow with answering because I have a job and don't check this post very often. If you have an issue that you can't seem to solve and it isn't necessarily related to something I coded, I suggest checking out the above sources first. I can promise you that it will take me a while to respond, so don't get your hopes up. I also do not answer any questions regarding Style System 1. Sorry!
