Bonjour mes amis!

It's been a long while since you've heard from me and I must say, I've been a busy fellow.
There are a few things I would like to ramble on about for a moment though.

I want to talk to you about how much I dislike Lady Singers (tm). Don't know what I'm talking about? Turn on your tele. You'll find it in every Mac and Old Navy commercial. Now I love Mac like the next chap but I mean really! Especially in the Mac Air commercial. Having to listen to some ladies' ovaries wailing and singing about I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT because I have been known to create my own lyrics for that song in particular. So many high pitched and whining noises! Sometimes I just tune out and listen to Edith Piaf, who is always singing in my head because, my friends, THAT is a woman singing!
Speaking of which, Not Jooolie's pere let me borrow La Vie En Rose which I will watch soon and share my opinions of.
Now I, of course, prefer the sounds of Dean Martin, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, a little Sinatra.
But if for some reason you are in need of acceptable modern Girl Music, consider the following:
The Puppini Sisters
The Pierces
Amy Winehouse
The Ravonettes - I realize this is cheating a bit but the SINGER is indeed a LADY.

My second bit of news comes via speakdaggers.

The addition of an observation deck to my beloved Eiffel Tower. You may read about it and see blueprints here.
Now, this is a little difficult for me to grasp. While we French are incredibly innovative and believe in the future while never rejecting our past, I wonder how this will change the image of our dear Paris?

Artists' rendering:

I, personally, think it's beautiful and in the spirit of progress that the Tower signifies.
At the same time, it's the loss of a classic image.
We shall see! I believe if anything it inspires me to visit the Tower in her current form just for memory's sake.
