Well, break has been...interesting so far. Not bad, but not necessarily good either. It was really sad to leave school this year, because I actually have friends, and it's hard to leave people when you've formed a bond with them. I learned that when I left for college last year. But then again, I suppose it is nice to see old friends.
On Friday night, Paul, Seth and I watched a movie at my house, which was nice. It was calm, and it was a perfect, slow night back. It was not a happy time leaving school, although I kicked ass on my last exam on Friday.
Saturday, I went to see A Series of Unfortunate Events with Tim, Aja, Holly, Angela (!!!), Justa, Silent Mike, and some random chick that was kind of bitchy. It was a decent movie, but the end was a little lacking. Afterwards, we went to Julio's, where Meg met up with us. It was good times, and it was trouble-free, which is always a plus.
Sunday was a lazy day, and I read a book.
Monday was a lazy day, and I read most of another book. Then I went to the SHS Winter Concert with Paul and Sarah, which was pretty good. I liked it in the opera house; it was nice. I'm not sure how I feel about the girls' dresses, however. But the groups were all pretty good, especially the bad. I was very impressed with them this year. Afterwards, we went back to Ian's house and hung out for a while.
I worked at Barre Town on Tuesday in the first grade. It was hell. Those kids were in DESPERATE need of a vacation. And my favorite part was when Mrs. Pelequin came up to me and said, "Aaron, I remember when you were in first grade in Kathy Cook's room, and trust me, you were never like this. You were an angel." Haha...it made my day. That night, I hung out with Jon and Ian for a little while at Ian's house. Alicia and I also quested later on for brownies, but wound up with cinnamon buns and cookies.
I worked at Barre Town on Wednesday as well, but this time as a middle school art teacher. I had a bunch of camp kids--Timo, Danielle and Ryan--as well as some that went to camp, but I didn't remember. I also had the best conversation with one of the kids:
Kid: "Can I play my CD?"
Me: "No, because it has inappropriate language, and I don't want the principal to walk in and have me lose my job."
Kid: "We'll just say that you were asleep and then we put it in."
Me: "Then I'd lose my job for falling asleep!"
Kid: "Why? Mrs. White falls asleep all the time and she hasn't lost her job."
I was very amused, as Mrs. White did the same thing when I was there. That night, I went over to Jon's, which was...kind of awkward actually. It got better, though, and Jon, Ian and I watched a good movie. Then I finished the book I started on Monday.
Today, I had an eye doctor's appointment very early. My eyes have gotten worse, which is not such a huge surprise. Then I napped because I was exhausted. And I started another book. Such has been my vacation so far.
I got my grades, too! Guess who's rocking the 3.6 this semester! Yeah, Dean's List!
EDEL 56 - Teachers and the Teaching Process: A-
EDEL 178 - Meeting Individual Needs: Assessment and Instruction: B-
EDSP 5 - Issues Affecting Persons with Disabilities: A-
PEAC 179 - Folk and Square Dancing: B-
THE 50 - Dramatic Analysis: A+
THE 110 - Acting II: Contemporary Scene Study: A
THE 190 - Theatre Practicum: Grade not turned in yet.
It makes me SO happy that I got an A+ in the hardest class that I was taking this semester!
I'm worried about Chris. The people he is moving in with next semester are assholes, and I hope everything is going to be okay for him.
I'm also worried about Alicia. But that goes without saying.
And I'm sad about Charlie. I don't know what happened, but I feel like if I struggle to understand, I'm going to get hurt even more. I just want to know why one of my closest friends started hating me.
As long as I can make it through this break, I can go back to Burlington, where the only drama is stuff that I am thankfully not involved in. Is it time yet?
