You know, I feel like I really haven't written anything substatial in a long time. Well, what do you think about that?
Toys was awesome. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun during a production weekend. The cast and crew was just amazing, and the audience loved the show. However, I permanently have "Happy Boys and Girls" by Aqua stuck in my head as a result. But it truly was an amazing experience. And for some reason, I can't type today.
Joel is just waking up. So I think I'm going to take my computer out into the common room. I shall return!
Okay, now that I've relocated...I'm still not typing any better.
So yeah, Toys was amazing. I miss seeing the cast every day. It's not like in high school when you still pass people in the halls after the play is over. I've hardly seen some people because they're not even in the theatre department. It makes me sad. But hopefully, everyone will be at the Theatre Holiday Party tonight. So that will be good.
The last week of classes was as to be expected. Kinda boring. But I am so glad to be rid of the education department. I have one more take-home final to turn in, and then I am free. A full-fledged theatre major am I! YAAAAAY!!!! And with classes like these next semester, how can I be sad?
ANTH 21 - Human Cultures
CLAS 24 - Myths and Legends of the Trojan War
ENGS 134 - Arthurian Literature
THE 150 - Theatre History I
THE 160 - Stage Management
THE 190 - Theatre Practicum: A Midsummer Night's Dream
It is going to be a blast. I am so excited about all of these classes!
Wednesday night was pretty awesome. Emily Ginter had a small party prior to the Naked Bike Ride (or as Peter, my acting professor, says: "That Nude Ride"). It was just a good old time. I drank kind of a lot, but I was okay in the morning. I was even okay enough to walk Kyle, the obnoxious freshman home. And we were all out there to greet Maggie as she rode by yelling "SHOULD I PUT IT HERE?" Oh man, good times.
Friday was my special ed final, and I think that went well. Despite the awkwardness that I felt as soon as I entered the room. But that was to be expected. Friday night, I went out to dinner at Friday's with Caitlin, Chris and Stephanie. It was a random assortment, but we really had a blast. I fucking love Chris. He's so great. He and I did a shot to being each other's savior's next year...we're both living with four women (him with Jessi*, Hannah, Kate and Jen; and me with Caitlin, Maggie, Emily and Becky). He's a fun guy, and I'm so glad I got to know him. After dinner, we went to see Ocean's Twelve. Good movie. I recommend it. Afterwards, I spent the night at Caitlin's because Maggie was at her boyfriend's.
And tonight is the Holiday Party. Yay for that!
And no, I didn't go see The Mikado. For a lot of reasons. First, it's finals week. Second, it's bad weather. Third, no one came to see me. Now I know a lot of people are going to gripe about the third reason, but honestly, if people didn't go out of their way to see my play, I don't see why I should go out of mine to see theirs. So there. I know it's selfish and I sound like an asshole, but it hurts that no one (except my mom) even cared enough to take a couple hours out of their day to come see me. So whatever. I didn't come to see The Mikado. Deal with it.
Off to do my EDEL 178 final now. Oh rapture and joy...
