Fic: Silver (2/3)

May 13, 2007 15:46

Here's part 2 of the story written for ningloreth. Part 1 is here.

Still smut free, and thanks again to elfscribe5 for the beta.

You can see LotR from here if the light's behind you and you squint hard enough, but all the characters on stage are my own.

Oh lovely, all the characters here again and a continuation of the story in SOS. Loved the sad sailors song and the conversations. Hope you will continue. Rozzan.

Well, there's one more part to go in this little story, which I should be posting shortly. I hope you enjoy it.

It's been fun re-visiting these characters and picking up on their stories. Who knows, maybe there'll be even more to come...

Thanks for the comments!

Ah yes, love the addition of looking at himself in the mirror. And the lengthy session with the barber. Mmmm. As you know, I thoroughly love your Kallim.

Glad you liked these little additions. I generally try to do as my beta says. LOL

Ooooh, yes, Leggy!

I do like the way we are seeing more of Kallim's personality -- seeing things from his POV. Do you have anyone's face in mind when you're writing him?

I loved all the details in this one, the setting, the food, and the sense of an extended family. I loved the sad song, too.

This bit worries me though:

"Would he do it, do you think?"

"Probably not this year," Gedrinel said slowly.

It sums up the trouble with elves -- they have all the time in the world... I do hope he comes to the rescue.

Ooooh, yes, Leggy!

Well, at least I managed to mention him.

I have a picture in mind when I write Kallim, but the face isn't right at all. I've met enough gorgeous Middle Eastern men in my time (and don't have to look too far for them, either) to know exactly what he looks like, though!

You're right about elves having all the time in the world. I think Legs has enough of a connection with Rekia that he won't leave her in the lurch, though.

I'm glad you're enjoying the details of this, even if it is a bit further south than you'd like it to be. LOL.

When you first started writing about Kallim, I imagined him looking like Sabu, but curly haired. Now I can see that he's much taller and leaner...

I do hope that Legolas comes south. The strange thing is, I've recently been re-reading LOTR very carefully, putting sticky pointers on all the important bits, and I find that I don't like Tolkien's Leggy much any more :-( I've been corrupted!

I'll comment on part 3 when I get home.

Gods, but I love this! You make me taste the wine, feel the heat and smell the sea. I adore Kallim more with every paragraph. Wonderful stuff!

Thank you - for the kind words and the ever-welcome hugs. *g*

I love Kallim a great deal, as I'm sure you're aware. This little taster is convincing me that I need to write more of him in the near future, so watch this space.

I want that fish! Every time you write about food, you make me want to eat them.

So happy to see you write about them. I miss them so much!

So glad to see you write so much recently. Very happy for you, it must feel great.

BTW, my computer was down last night and fixed this afternoon, thanks God.

*hugs & xxxxx*
