Cynthia [Pokemon] | ♣ ❄
Lance admires Cynthia fiercely, as both a friend and as a pokemon trainer. He doesn't often meet trainers that he considers his true equal and Cynthia is definitely one of them -- her ability to train not just one type of pokemon, but many, is something that Lance holds in high regard. She is a good friend and a loyal ally in Adstringendum, someone that Lance feels he can trust in a pinch and with much of everything else. Being from his own world is also a plus -- and he enjoys not being the only one with dragon Pokemon around. It can get a little tiring.
Hiccup Haddock [How To Train Your Dragon] | ♣
Lance sees a lot of his younger self in Hiccup. He admires his kindness and warmth, his determination, and above all, his respect for dragons and the people around him. (But let's be real, Lance values one much more highly than the other). He is just and loyal to what he believes, something Lance values highly, and his relationship with Toothless reminds Lance fiercely of his relationship with Dragonite. He wants to know more about him... and he's totally up for racing dragons in the wastes. Just saying.
Hitsugaya Toushirou [Bleach] | ♣
Lance likes and respects Hitsugaya quite a bit, which says a lot, because Lance doesn't often view people in terms of 'I like you' and 'I respect you'. Honestly, there are maybe three or four people in Lance's life that he legitimately respects, and Hitsugaya is one of them. He admires his tenacity and his love for his friends -- because you can't tell Lance that he doesn't have a large amount of love for his friends, because he can see it, goddammit -- and respects his need to protect them as much as he does. He feels like he's too hard on himself sometimes and lets his temper control him a bit too much... but Lance chalks it up to youth and the fact that Hitsugaya thinks too much.
Kurotsuchi Mayuri [Bleach] | ♣
Kurotsuchi Mayuri is the biggest douchebag on the planet. ... okay, this may be a slight exaggeration, but Lance detests Kurotsuchi. He has consistently threatened to dissect his pokemon and has acted upon his threats on the people that reside within the city. He has yet to act upon his threats with Dragonite or Charizard, but that doesn't make Lance's opinion of the man change... and should the shinigami scientist act upon his threats, he will have on very angry Dragon Master on his tail.
Lucian [Pokemon] | ♣ ❄
If there is anything Lance admires about Lucian, it is his calm exterior and seemingly neverending patience. He really is like the perfect roommate -- he is quiet, calm, pacifistic, and often keeps to himself in the library at Whipstaff... essentially, he is Will's exact polar opposite. His connection with his pokemon is something Lance admires and he knows he can rely on Lucian for much of anything, whether or be a quick battle or a piece of good advice. He's very happy to have Lucian amongst his allies... besides, he and Will seem to get along, which keeps Will busy.
Negi Springfield [Mahou Sensei Negima!] | ♣
Negi is a highly intelligent child, which Lance admires very much. He cares deeply for his friends, will fight for what he believes is right, and carries a heavy sense of responsibility that Lance has only seen in many of the children that come to challenge him for his title. Lance trusts Negi -- well, as much as he trusts anyone in Adstringendum -- and will be there if the mage ever needs anything, be it advice, loaning out Whipstaff for a Halloween party, or to steer him in the right direction.
Tsukino Usagi [Sailor Moon] | ♣
Lance thinks Usagi is a little naive and hasn't truly seen the horrors of the world as presented to her... or perhaps she's just innocent and clinging to it. Either way, Lance finds it refreshing, and admires her kindness and warmheartedness, along with her stubborness, despite living in a hellhole. He considers her a friend and her death upset him terribly. He hopes that she keeps her head down and works as hard as she can to keep safe in Adstringendum.
Uchiha Madara [Naruto] | ♣
Madara nearly killed Lance, which Lance could ultimately forgive... but Madara also almost killed Dragonite, Lance's closest ally and best friend. Despite the fact that both men were underneath the influence of the Animus and the fight was started by Lance himself, Lance will never forgive the shinobi for nearly killing his loyal ally for simply defending his master. No excuse Lance has been given has been good enough and no excuse ever will be good enough. Madara is on the permanent shit list. Tough luck.
Will [Pokemon] | ♣ ☼ ☆
Will is... Will. They have had their rough times in Adstringendum, but Lance feels like it has only made their alliance stronger. Though this Will is a different Will from the one Lance knows in his own world, he sees it as little difference. Will is the person Lance trusts the most in Adstringendum, with everything, and Lance knows that he can count on Will in a time of need. He feels responsible for Will's safety, as he is Johto's Champion and Will is a member of his Elite Four, and while Will's constant 'Sir Lance~~!'-ing gets a little tiring, Lance secretly enjoys how much he apparently means to his friend. Will brings out Lance's childish side, Lance brings out Will's serious side (sometimes), and they make an excellent team.
