It looks excellent. I watched the preview for Sims3 at the website, and you can see how this expansion leads to the new game.

My only concern with Sims 3 is having to start from scratch after investing so much money into the last version.

I agree there's that factor.
I really liked playing the original Sims.
The new version, if it meets the expectations that the video shows, will be pretty different from the previous versions.
