My massage yesterday was nothing short of heavenly. It knocked out the low-grade headache I'd had for days. I'm still feeling it's relaxing effects.
Of course the fact that it's sunny and in the low 80's has helped my disposition tremendously today as well. Plus it's payday tomorrow!
I had my 6-week check-up today.
So I was messed up on my numbers the last time I had blood work done. My cholesterol wasn't 350, it was 201. It was still high, but 201 is better than 350!
It was my triglycerides that were 350.
This time around my triglycerides were in the 310's, which is still high enough that I have to temporarily go onto medication. Plus I have to cut all "voluntary" sugar out of my diet, meaning that I have to consciously cut it out, so I'm only exposed to the sugars that I can't control in prepared lunches and foods. I do this with my migraine diet, so this is no big deal. I'm hoping this will give me the incentive to finally kick the chocolate addiction. Looking at food and evaluating it as "life or death" is a great motivator.
My cholesterol was down to 191 from 201. The doctor decided not to put me on a statin drug, because the cholesterol was coming down itself. My neurologist will be happy, because apparently you can't take sumatriptan migraine drugs and be on statins. So no additional bad medicine there.
I've lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks too.
The doctor says that I have to lose more weight, because the good/bad cholesterol ratio is still off. Hopefully this will get me motivated to get moving around more, and get that family YMCA membership renewed.
