Catching up

It was a busy weekend!

I picked Son up at lunchtime after his 1/2 day for his last day of school. After a quick lunch I took him to his friend Anthony's house, where several of his classmates were already there helping to set up for Anthony's birthday party. "Setting up" seemed to involve a great deal of pelting each other with water balloons and jumping into the pool!

Friday night Son and I went to the Relay for Life at the Dennis-Yarmouth High School. We cheered on the people from my quilt store and walked a couple of laps. Then Son discovered the Cape League Baseball game going on behind the high school. We had to go watch it, and he was absolutely fascinated with it. It is baseball after all, and he loves watching it. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox were playing the Chatham Athletics. Son was rooting for the Red Sox of course lol!

Saturday was hot, OMG was it hot and muggy. Son was impatient to go to Anthony's for the birthday party. He was there from noon to just about 5:00 p.m., and he even said he was "a little tired" when we got home. I had been having a bit of a headache, I think the change in the weather caused it, and I fell asleep at 5:30 p.m., waking up at 8:15 a.m. on Father's Day.

Son actually woke me up, telling me that Dad was whining for coffee and I needed to go get it. So off to Dunkin Donuts for tea and coffee, then we went to the local town airport (grass strip) to have breakfast, sponsored by the local aero club. Son had to go look at all the small airplanes and the gliders, and told his father that he wanted a glider ride.

After that we just puttered around. Husband took a nap. It really was too hot to do any gardening or yard work. Then we had a prime rib dinner, Husband's absolute favorite meal.

When I got to work this morning, the landlord had turned off the air-conditioning for the whole building from the outside. It's in the low 90's here, and the cool air is anemic at best.

But I finished one of my murder cases this morning WooHoo!

Son and Husband are off doing "guy-stuff": visiting job sites; visiting potential job sites to formulate a bid; going miniature golfing. We may or may not get together for lunch.

family stuff, new england weather squeeage
