So yesterday afternoon as my hand and arm were numb and my shoulder ached, I could deal with it. But when my left leg went numb in part too, then I went to the walk-in clinic near my office. As a migraineur I am extremely sensitive to the thoughts of stroke. Plus I was working myself into an anxiety attack as well.
Luckily it's just the shoulder/rotator cuff, and the triceps muscle which is very swollen. That, as I figured, was causing the numbness in my left arm and hand. Apparently I had been holding myself in my chair in such a way that it affected my back and consequently my leg. The doctor checked for stroke and blood clot, but it was negative (yay!).
Of course the question still remains about my shoulder. I guess I'm going to have to go back to physical therapy for it. The doctor wanted to prescribe me Flexoril, but I'm allergic to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. So I'm on Alleve and Tylenol w/codeine when the pain is really bad; plus moist heat.
It's not as bad as my migraine pain (the only thing that tied that type of pain for me was childbirth). But my pain threshold is completely skewed because of the migraines.
Being my left side, it's not as bad as it could be, because I'm right-handed.
It's probably going to be a quieter-than-expected long weekend for me.
bitching and various rantings,
i hate my body,
stress has made me what i am,
better living thru chemical intervention,
i'm getting too old for this
