VILLAIN-CON (Brainstorming)
Hey everyone, is your alignment-swapped bad guy going to be looking to rebuild their evil credibility once they’re back to normal? Then I might have a plot for you!
Now that Major’s back in the public eye, he would like to do some networking with his peers. Since the old supervillain Coalition is more or less defunct by now, he's planning a big get-together at a mansion or hotel. This event would invite both PC and NPC bad guys- yes, even the ones who hate the Major- to forge new connections and make new contacts. This isn’t an attempt to build a grandiose Legion of Doom thing, but to spark lots of smaller-scale alliances or partnerships. Or seething hatreds, Major's not picky.
It would be kind of like this plot from 2010. The Major would send out his invitations anonymously, possibly through the Joker’s Box, so that all the people who hate him still show up. As Psi mentioned, this plot could serve as the catalyst for the Joker’s big cooperative crime spree.
Ah, but what about those villains who are morally gray or at least pretending to be good? How can they attend without exposing themselves as bad guys to everyone there? The Major’s got them covered with for that, with an alibi called ‘fake kidnapping.’ So if anyone wonders what an officially law-abiding citizen like your character was doing at EvilFest, they can just say ‘I don’t even know man the Major abducted me for some weird reason. Those wacky Nazis and their schemes, you know?’ Of course, to make it convincing some real innocents might have to get genuinely kidnapped...
Throw in the possibility of good guys infiltrating the event while undercover, and it should be a very eventful evening! But it will probably take a lot of organization to keep track of the double-crosses and hidden agendas, so I thought a brainstorming post was necessary ahead of time. Thoughts, suggestions, questions? Most importantly are people actually interested or available for this, or is there already enough going on this month? (We can do this in the New Year if things are packed enough now)
