Since you said that personifications of locations aren't really appable, I wanted to ask if that applies to the countries from Axis Powers Hetalia? They all have their own individual personalities, are pretty human for landmasses and the actual land and people don't seem to be that effected by them running all over the globe.

Also, on a related note, the writer for Hetalia made up a genderbent AU that really only includes character designs, a few notes and a one panel comic. If we are allowed to app from Hetalia, would apping from that continuum be acceptable too?

Unfortunately, at this present time, characters from Axis Powers Hetalia do fall under the category of characters that cannot be played at cape&cowl, due to their nature as personified locations as well as the effect that "canon removal" would have on the world build of the game.

If this changes in the future, we will update FAQ and rules accordingly!

Is there a respectable time to wait before reserving/app'ing a character that someone has just dropped?

There's no defined 'respectable' time, no, but since we do allow players to rescind their drops for a 48-hour window from the time of their initial notice, waiting until at least that benchmark has passed is wise.

Reusing his old application and adding on new information is perfectly fine, as is linking to his old posts for samples! Go for it.

You'll get bonus points if you can (re-)explain his powers to the tune of Billie Jean.

What if we've already written out a personality section for another game, could we just use that personality section?

(I've reserved a character that already has a journal, etc, and a written out application. I'm wondering if I can use your application that I've written in as well, and copy-pasta the personality section instead of completely re-writing it.)

If it meets the content requirements stated in our app form, and it's written by you, you're allowed to use segments from applications for other games!

Are combinations of canons allowed? For example, if there's been a film and a book version of a character, is combining the two canon sources permitted?

Honestly, it depends! If the two versions of the canon are similar enough where information from one could plausibly fill in gaps in the other, this is usually fine; however, if the one version is radically different or contradictory to the other (be it through plot events, major points of character history or interpretation, setting, whathaveyou), then we may ask you to choose one version.
