MODSTAFF AND HELPSTAFF APPLICATIONS | OCTOBER 2010
So. We need helpstaff members, and now that there is an extremely French hole in our hearts, we also need one additional presence on the C&C modteam. Are you up to the challenge? Because we are putting one up! Both CURRENT and PROSPECTIVE helpstaff members will need to respond to this post, as this also functions as a way of seeing how our current members are rolling with their duties! If you are on helpstaff now and don't comment, we will assume that you don't want the job anymore.
Maybe, now that you're reading this post, you have questions. Questions like "what is helpstaff?" and "what does being on helpstaff require?" and "Leah, is this the exact same crap you put up last time you posted helpstaff apps?" Luckily for you, the answers are simple! Helpstaff are the lovely people who do the coding and tabling and general updating of the lists and tables that keep the game running; to see what pages they are responsible for, just look down at the list. Doing this requires at least a basic knowledge of HTML, as well as the time and the drive to update your page--this can mean anything from devoting time once a week to something rather more frequent, depending on the page you're assigned to. In addition, helpstaff members are given access to the mod account, and this means that we expect a certain amount of discretion from you. If we catch you using it for anything outside your assigned duties, we will flip enough tables to flip a hole in the space-time continuum and flip tables at the Last Supper.
Being a mod, on the other hand, entails... being a mod. You'll be helping run the game, and that is not always fun and games! It's a job that requires hella time and diplomacy, any prejudices will have to be set aside by the door, and you will have to read so many apps that your brain will start liquefying from the inside out. Ultimately, although it's a demanding job, it's also a rewarding one! And you get a sweet nickname.
