I'm just sayin' that when I bumped you up, all Prime did was back my play. I'm more of an improviser. Not a big fan of red tape.

[He takes a swig, pulling out Bauer's file.]

I'm just saying I'm not Prime. All I'm asking for is a simple "Hey, Elisa, gonna promote Bauer tonight." That's not red tape, that's just courtesy.

[ She peeks over it. ] He's a good cop. And he's much better at tactics than I ever will be. It's a good choice.

Fair enough, I guess. The guys back home definitely wouldn't sing praises about my manners, though. One more reason I've got no business in authority.
