He was up early. He usually was. He did some of his best work in the mornings. He was in his usual labcoat, gloves off, eating toast at the kitchen table. His free hand sketches away, working and refining the rat-form surveillance concept they worked up the other night.
It will work. Probably very well. He's starting to see the decided benefits to this collaborative process. And it is vastly different than it ever used to be. There isn't the competing egos of dealing with, say, Professor Dementor - or the wildly varying goals of Monkey Fist or Duff Killigan.
And teaching is surprisingly fun. There's a lesson Drakken never thought he'd have learned. He takes another bite of toast, pencil scribbling. And then he looks up at the sound of footsteps.
