Things had never exactly been ideal in the City - as much as superheroes did their best to keep a good name, there were always reasons to have negative opinions about the imPorts. These disagreements with their right to share their space was rarely manifested--but things were changing, and fast. Tommy wasn't into politics - at all - he left the boring intel up to whoever cared enough to filter to the important parts.
It was plain to see that the atmosphere in the City was becoming increasingly tense, what with people being given reasons to become more wary and more paranoid about the aliens walking around with super powers. He didn't care much about anyone that recognized him in the suit and tried to make a spectacle of it, but he wasn't about to let his girlfriend patrol alone at night knowing that there were more than enough people out there with an extra pack of reasons to make her regret it. As much as he knew she was capable of taking care of herself, Protective Boyfriend Instincts kicked in first.
"Got it, No'!" The exclamation was voiced a fraction of a second before his fingers curled around the piece of jewelry that had been dropped from the thug's hands, still stumbling backwards from the punch he'd been delivered. He heard a barely muttered 'fucking imports' before he turned his head in another thug's direction--the movement of his hand reaching for a gun took him slightly longer than usual to process. Another punch was delivered to knock the man out before he even got a good hold of the grip.
Tommy returned his attention to Rikki.
"Are we done yet?"
