For his part, McClane was fine with deferring to Bauer as well. Before he came here, he was with the rank and file who always hated it when feds stuck their nose and started pissing contests over jurisdiction and who's cleared to know what. But so far, Bauer's shown no signs of being dickheads like those Johnsons he dealt with during the Nakatomi mess. Truth be told, after having to actually assume a position of authority here rather than sitting back and heckling the captain at every turn as was his usual M.O., he's damn thankful to have someone with more experience at high-level shit like this to back up

Jack shook his head. "No, no powers. Most of them shouldn't even be armed, I saw no weapons." He moved silently up to the main door of the funeral home, knelt down, and quietly slid a tool into the lock and turned until it clicked, then nodded at the other two as he stood up. He paused for a moment to let them take their positions by the door, listening to the cultists' continued haranguing. Jack then took a stun grenade off his belt, inhaled a deep breath, and then kicked the door open with a bang, hurled the grenade in, and turned away as the grenade filled the meeting with sound and fury

With the police raid concluded and the last of the cultists under arrest or cooling on the ground, Wesker had only a short time to search through the rest of the building before it was completely secured and had forensic analysts crawling all over it.
He'd had a close call earlier when stray bullets forced him from his hiding spot in the lobby. With the chaos of the fire fight and his superior speed and agility, Wesker was confident none of the police, or their uninvited guest, had seen enough to identify him in the future.
The police here were surprisingly competent, if what he had heard and observed of them so far was any indication. It might be entirely worth the effort to gain access to police personnel and information, at least temporarily.
As soon as his search was concluded and he began to risk discovery Wesker departed, leaving hardly any sign he had been there at all.
