Takaya had spent a good week reacclimating to the asylum again, picking up on the rules. Don't skulk in the shadows. Be cooperative with the staff. Take your pills. Loudly declaring threats against the entire world around the nervous patients isn't funny and you shouldn't do it. Discussing the futility of life with morbidly depressed and suicidal patients is really not funny and "releasing them from their torment" isn't a good excuse.

The quiet and antiseptic ambiance of the hospital helped calm him and his thoughts. The drugs did it better. The first few days were spent trying to find what worked with the suppressants he willingly turned over as a life-preserving medication; he spent a day staring blankly at a wall, he spent another pacing endlessly because his skin absolutely crawled, and yet another he refused to leave his room due to his consciousness hanging just off the edge of completely delirious, every noise about a thousand times louder to him than it really was. They'd finally struck a fine balance three days ago with ( ... )

The whole world was dim when compared to the fever of his mind, stories on top of stories on top of his cracked bones, and he didn't even notice Takaya until he was right on top of him. He flinched at the voice. It was familiar in a way he hated (or thought he hated), and he squeezed his eyes shut, because he couldn't believe it, no, not Takaya, not right now, he was just visiting him here.

Despite everything, when Katurian raised his eyes, the first thing he looked for was whether or not Takaya was holding a notebook. Then he looked at his face.

"No," he said. Even the word sounded frail. He couldn't fool himself.

"Good. Neither have I."

Predictably he took a place leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest - and the shirt he'd been more or less forced into, which covered up his tattoos. He'd also had to put his hair up in a ponytail ("To resolve...confusion about your appearance," they'd told him) so he wouldn't freak out the other patients on Easter Sunday. He'd also had to shave, meaning scruffy evil Jesus now almost looked like a functioning member of society. Y'know, almost.

"Does this creative mania still seize you?"

With the opening of the main door, a blond male stepped inside -- adorning a white coat with a nametag reading: Jason Malcolm. A clipboard was carried in hand and as he glanced down at it, the glasses he wore shifted -- causing him to push them back into place with his index finger. After a moment, he checked in, greeting the receptionist with a smile to which she replied: "Hello, Dr. Malcolm. How was your first day?"

"About as hectic as you can imagine, but at least it's work..." he threw a pleasant smile her way, tucking the clipboard under one arm and taking out the key card that gave him access to the inner sanctum. He slid it through the slot.

The door unlocked, and he stepped through the entrance, narrowing his eyes. There were many things on his agenda, none of which included working and all of which meant beginning to establish an army for M'stra -- his beloved, his true beloved...everything that Echo should have been but wasn't. Though M'stra was untouchable, above him -- his goddess. And Alpha certainly had no plans of ( ... )

Alpha moved, making his way toward the door and opening it up. He peered out into the hallway before walking in a brisk but casual pace -- a doctor with a destination, who smiled pleasant greetings at any who passed. It was what was on the outside that counted, after all. And when he rounded the corner and moved toward the common room, he slid his card through the slot. His eyes landed on the pair almost immediately. No one would miss them. No one would notice they were gone. No one truly cared about them. Really, they were just the same as he had been when he was locked inside the Dollhouse. Everything was the same, save that he belonged in his world. But here, these two were like him. Just outsiders, people not of this world who some may have spitefully believed didn't belong there. If anything, he was doing the citizens a favor ( ... )

Takaya glanced up at Alpha, flat yellow eyes narrowing slightly. He pushed up from his position leaning against the wall, dropping one arm and instinctively keeping the other hovering over a revolver that wasn't there. Once he noticed it, however, he set it lower, setting it on his hip instead.

"Very well," He sighed, seeing no point in argument. He'd like to imagine the tranqs weren't the reason, but wasn't stupid enough to actually believe it. He glanced aside to Katurian, curious as to whether he'd cooperate.
