The spirit, to his credit, was definitely less caught up in the spectacle of the tournament than Rua was. Looking over the crowd, Rua seemed to be in equal parts drinking in the audience and looking for specific people. He grinned when he saw Ruka, Aki and Alastair and waved happily to them with both hands. After that, he finally concentrated on his opponent. He admittedly had been kind of wary of this guy at first, after what Bakura had said, but...he'd dueled both Aki and Ruka and nothing bad had happened to them, right? Rua slowly rubbed his chin, considering his options ( ... )

"I'd be pretty mad if you did go easy on me!" Rua shot back. He placed his deck into his disk. He started winding his arm rapidly as the machine activated and shuffled his deck with a loud whirrrrrrrrring noise.

"I'm ready to go!" He said and placed his hand on his deck, ripping his starting hand off. "Let's go! DUEL!"

Rua was practically jumping into the air at his win. He swung an arm out and smacked it on to the hologram of his ace monster, upon which it kinda just...went right through. The big robotic dragon stared down at him for a second, then stiffly raised its arm in a motion similar to Rua's exuberant waving.

He stopped (but the dragon kept going, for some reason) and returned Bakura's smile. He ran across the field to him and held a hand out to him. "Yeah! That was a lot of fun!"

Winner: Rua ceodragon March 31 2010, 02:03:28 UTC
Kaiba had been watching the whole duel with rapt attention from the side-lines. For selfish reasons he wanted Rua to win. He'd seen Bakura duel before, and while he was good, he wasn't up to his skill level. Therefore, if Bakura had been able to defeat Rua's deformers it would have been a blow to his pride.

The last of the fireworks went off just after Bakura's life points hit zero. The tournament was over, and they had a winner. The light show continued as the duelists congratulated each other and Kaiba finally moved from his position on the side-lines.

"The winner!" He exclaimed for the audience when he reached the two duelists. He reached into his coat and took out a large white envelope which he held out to Rua. "The prize money and card reward."

Rua's grin couldn't be any wider as he took the envelope Kaiba offered and opened it. "Nooo way, that's a lot of money...!" He muttered, but then he plucked out the card. "Ohhh, man! This card is the best! The best, the best!" He slipped it into his deck right there, and it was shuffled in without a second's delay.

He then looked up at Kaiba and pulled at his jacket to get his attention. "Hey, hey, you're gonna do something like this again, right?"

Kaiba watched with a small smile as Rua exclaimed over his prize. The shear elation looked great on the jumbo screen and would be great for sales and create a bigger foot-hold of Duel Monsters and future tournaments. The publicity smile disappeared instantly when Rua grabbed at his coat.

He looked down at him in shock at the unexpected action. No one had grabbed his coat before and they especially hadn't tugged. Maybe he hadn't scowled enough at the kid to teach him to back off. No...he'd all but threatened him over the comm so that couldn't be it. Odd child.

He took a step back, putting on a public game face as the jumbo screen was still on them. He didn't pull the coat out of Rua's grasp, but the step back put a more comfortable distance between them. "Of course," he replied with a traditional smirk. "Don't get too comfortable at the top. You'll have to struggle to stay there next time."
