Sally has been wanting to take dance classes for nearly forever. As a kid she'd been put into gymnastics when all she wanted to do was tap dance. She walked into the studio looking like a teenager straight out of the 80s; black leggings, pink leg warmers, a too long pink shirt that draped off one shoulder, she had it all.

She set her bag down and did stretches while waiting for the class to begin. Stretching was good, right? She seriously hoped she wasn't going to be the oldest one in this room.

The weird thing was that Ryan honestly didn't find the outfit weird. People showed up to his classes dressed in everything from jeans to tutus. It was kind of amazing what some parents thought dancers wore. Ryan? Ryan was just wearing clothes. Today it was a t-shirt and some looser jeans. Dancing in tight jeans was kind of a pain.

Seeing the girl sit and stretch, Ryan walked over. "You're going to want to focus on your legs. Dance pretty much makes all the muscles in your legs scream for oxygen."

"Okay. Focusing on the legs," she smiled, and did just that. The beam had been her focus in gymnastics so her legs were worked quite a bit. She had a feeling entirely new muscles would be awakened in this class. "I am so happy that I saw your post about dance classes on the Network. I have been wanting to do this forever."

She glanced around the room. "And I've never done this before so hopefully I don't go sliding across the floor and smashing into walls." Which could technically could happen because of her slippery force field.

Dance and gymnastics were fairly similar, but even with that there would probably be places hurting that she wasn't even aware she'd had. Ryan shrugged.

"Dance is pretty easy and the good thing about me teaching you is that it's pretty hard to cause an accident. I tend to catch people with the music if they seem like they're having trouble. I try not to do that too often though, or no one learns anything."

"You can manipulate how people move through music?"

If that was the case, Sally was extremely impressed.

"Not exactly. It's more like I can temporarily turn the room into a musical and the dancing follows with the music. It's how dance numbers work back home, you just sing and your feet do the moving for you."

It was always weird explaining his powers to people because they generally had no real context of how they worked.

Sally stared at him for a long moment, basically imitating a cod fish with her mouth hanging open.

"That is about the coolest power I have ever heard of."

"It's not really a power. It's just how our world works." Ryan paused for a second. "My real power is turning the music into things that start with s. It's what the porter gave me, in any case."

To him, at least, the whole thing was rather mundane and normal. He'd lived his entire life in a musical, it wasn't about to change any time soon.

Sally stared at him from her spot on the floor, stretching forgotten. "How does that work? The s thing."

Learning about others powers has always interested her. It never hurt to be informed.

His powers were better shown than explained, Ryan thought for a moment before singing. "She's a sunflower, she's my one flower - she's the flower of my heart."

As he finished, a sunflower appeared in Ryan's hand. He offered it to Sally. "For you."

Sally grinned as she accepted the flower. "Frank Sinatra, right?"

She has a distant memory of her father singing that song to her when she barely reached the height of a table. "That's a pretty neat power."

"You got it. The flower will disappear in a few hours, but I figured it was easier to show you how my powers work than try to explain them." Ryan laughed. "I still haven't be able to come up with a clear explanation. So, now that I've shared my powers . . . Do you mind telling me about yours?"

Sally figured it was easier to show then try and explain it. She let her force field slip on around herself and grinned. "I have a force field that makes it pretty much impossible for anyone to grab onto me. They just slide right off." Unless the person's name is Domino. She isn't sure how that woman managed to grab onto her.

"It also let's me skate around without needing ice skates. And I'm pretty sure I'll be able to fly because of it. I'm working on that part."

Ryan seemed impressed. He tended to think everyone had cooler powers than him, though. Except for Dean, because all Dean could do was make black Impalas. "That's pretty awesome! I can make shields too, but they're not that cool. And I found out I can . . . Kind of fly, but it's pretty erratic."

"I kind of fall gracefully at the moment. Which causes Sam to flail and catch me before I hit the ground." She laughed at that. "Thankfully my shield makes it so I'm not hurt. But eventually I hope I can actually glide through the air on some kind of surfboard or something. I just have to figure out how to perfect it."

Currently she tended to have the surfboard working for nearly thirty seconds before she tripped over herself and headed toward the ground.

"So you fall with style, like in Toy Story?" Ryan laughed a little, although his own attempt at flight had ended up in him activating them accidentally and landing face-first into his couch. Fun times, that. "Sounds like it'll be pretty awesome once you get it down, though."
