WHO: morecandles and OPEN. WHERE: The Institute. WHEN: Midday, Thursday. WARNINGS: Nope. SUMMARY: Blindfold's finding her way around the Institute, being her usual self. FORMAT: Quicklog!
[Scatty has caught a new scent around the Institute, one that hasn't already been saved in the back of her mind for reference. She follows it, down one hall and another, wandering along with the wanderer as she waits for her class to begin. In just a few minutes, she turns a corner and sees the owner of the new scent do the same.
The redhead raises an eyebrow, seeing that this girl is wearing... a blindfold. And murmuring to herself. Well. She approaches at a normal, human pace, curious as to who she is.]
Yes, pardon me, it's good so far, isn't it? And it will be, for the rest of the day, at least, from what I can see. There will still be troubles, of course, but it is quieter than usual. [ she pauses, raising a hand in greeting, though she doesn't quite manage to wave in exactly the right direction ] You're the warrior, aren't you? Yes.
[And because of that off-base gesture, she is suddenly quite aware that this girl is blind, which means she must be the new student. Scathach approaches, pausing just a foot or so in front of her so that her voice is directed clearly, properly. A small smile curves her lips at the girl's words and recognition, and she makes sure to project it in her voice.]
I am--Scathach is what they call me. And you must be Blindfold. Certainly a... fitting name.
Excuse me, yes, it's rather obvious, isn't it? The X-Men tend to have names like this, don't really care for riddles; there's a girl who conjures the will of her ancestors and creates armour for herself, around those she must protect, and calls herself Armour. [ she smiles warmly, albeit a little distantly ] Still, it's very nice to meet you, Scathach.
[It dawned on Jay that he didn't know how to greet the latest imPorted X-Men anymore, what with being dead and all, but he couldn't exactly not say anything when he caught sight of her. That would just be rude, and Lord help him if Ma heard about it.]
[ she's silent for a moment, because she knows that bringing up his lack of being dead probably isn't the best way to go about things, despite mentioning it being her first instinct. In the end, she speaks as plainly as possible ]
[ She has a stack of books in her arms, and regards Blindfold curiously. At first, she's inclined to ask if Blindfold needs help, but reflecting that that's probably insensitive or ableist or something, decides not to. Besides, she seems to be getting around by herself all right. ]
Yes. Yes you are, thank you. [ she regards Sophie with equally as much curiosity in return, albeit less in a visual manner ] And you're not a mutant, are you? No, no, of course not.
Pardon me, that's right. I am and I can. Tell, that is, although I had an advantage. Had an advantage, because Mr. Summers told me that they let others in here, now, even though it's caused problems before. [ pauses, thoughtful ] But you don't think you're a mutant, so it should be okay. What are you reading, thank you?
[Pixie watches Ruth quietly with her arms folded for a few moments, lost in thought about which point in time this Ruth may have come from, and whether she was from the past (making Megan have to hold her tongue about certain events... not that it would help around a telepath) or the future. If it was the future, did Meg even, really, want to know...?]
[Soon enough, though, Ruth spoke, making it apparent that she knew the other girl was there.]
Alright Ruth? Need an extra set of eyes? I don't mind.
[Megan smiles softly and offers her arm to the other girl.]
As best I can, anyway. I'm rather new here myself, but I think I've got the basic layout down by now. It's not so different from the old Institute, except for having some doors where there were none before. Is there anywhere in particular you're trying to go?
[They catch her thoughts; even at home, she's always stood out on the astral plane to them, and now that there are far less students she stands out all the more. Phoebe, Celeste and Mindee round the corner and greet her with faint smiles and a polite telepathic wave.]

[ There's a note of wistfulness in her voice. She doesn't know about mutant persecution. ]

Hello, Megan. Perhaps you could lead me around this new Institute, yes.
