[Rikku is out shopping for groceries, a plastic bag of stuff swinging from each hand. She's humming, and actually dressed almost appropriately for the weather in jeans and a light jacket. She does not see this swift young man coming down the sidewalk she happens to be walking along.]

[Tommy stops speeding away from the previous shop after after hearing someone - a female voice - call 'Speed!' out, turning his head a fraction of a second before coming to a full stop. It's either another superhero or a fan, but either option is enough to have Tommy forget to check who's walking in his direction. He bumps into Rikku.]

Hey--! [he places his hands up, shielding himself] Watch it.

Hey, I--

[Is bumped! Does the completely cliche "wobble, windmill, trip" deal. One of her bags goes flying and, not realizing that she does not have the best agility in the world this way, she kind of does a leap/lurch towards it, holding out the arm it fell from in an attempt to catch it.]

[Rikku is probably half a second away from fully holding out her arm by the time Tommy catches it, holding it up in a perfectly normal stance, like nothing happened.

He actually gets the chance to take a look at the girl's face. She's pretty cute.]

[HELLO GUY RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER... She just squeaks and tries to lurch backwards, and by some miracle, she actually regains her balance. She kind of stares for a minute, looking at him too. Scary-fast, and also kind of cute. What is today for her.]

You betcha. Got here about, oh, two months ago? How about you?

Me? About... [He takes a moment to remember, since he was ported out and back in.] Eight months or something. [a shrug.]

How're you handling the [mocking tone] fun activities so far?

[Whistles.] That's a long time to be away from home. I mean--well, I haven't had a home since two years ago, but eight months is still a doozie.

[She rolls her eyes, and is equally sarcastic.] Oh, yeah! I'm having loads of fun so far. Just the other week, I passed out completely after poking my finger.

[He arches an eyebrow; his smile is a little lopsided.] Wow. Must've been one really rough poke.
