The phone had been with Danny since Christmas, and it was time to get upgraded. The chip Ghost had planted into it was rudimentary, not any sort of live feed, just something to pick up later if necessary. Rand was a huge liability, what with the whole "being tortured by Osborn and company" thing he had going on.
So there was Ghost, at his apartment. Coming in through the wall of the living room. Trying to see where the cellphone was.
This was extremely well thought out.
