Rikku had never been particularly sheepish about talking to people she didn't know. In a place like Spira, it was really impractical to be, anyway--you were always meeting someone new where ever you went, so getting in people-skills while you were still young was always a good plan. And Shiva knew that Rikku was one hell of a people-person. Even after speaking with Winry for under fifteen minutes, she liked the girl, and was more than willing to show her around the MAC. Why not? Rikku hadn't had someone to explain things to her, but she was sure it'd be nice to offer that to someone else.

The blonde girl was trotting towards where she thought the other girl was; she hadn't asked for specific directions, which had probably been a mistake, but then, she was Rikku, the greatest thief on this side of anywhere! If she couldn't find one girl wandering around, then she didn't deserve her master thief title.

But when she didn't find the other girl after about ten minutes, she seriously considered taking that proclamation back.

But then she spotted a blonde--two blondes, actually. It looked like one was a boy, and the other a girl--she wasn't sure about the guy, but the girl was definitely her mark. She had to be, else Rikku would have to consider herself a disgrace, and that just wasn't an option. Waving wildly, she jogged towards the couple, a hopeful smile on her face. "Hey! One of you is Winry, yeah?"

Winry almost considered pushing Alphonse forward and saying he was Winry--but unfortunately Rikku had already heard her voice, and while he was a tad bit girly looking, not quite so much to fool anyone for long. Besides it was better to get to know Rikku--as she assumed this girl was---before joking so easily with her. For all she knew the other might not take kindly to a jest like that, or interpret it as her truly trying to fool the other.

"Yea, that's me." she was surprised that the other had found her, she hadn't given directions after all.

"Alphonse, this is the girl I told you I was going to meet. Rikku, this is a friend of mine I just found out is here. His name is Alphonse." she introduced the two.

"Winry..." Al began, his concern visible in his features. He knew well that Winry was probably in love with his brother and also really cared about himself. It made perfect sense, after all. So it must've been a blow to realize that the Elrics she knew and loved were not the ones here with her now in a strange new world. Al wanted to help her feel better somehow. He wanted to see her smile again. So putting a goofy grin on his lips he nodded.

It was then that they were approached by another girl, this one Al recognized from the network on one of his brother's posts. He didn't know her name, but Winry seemed familiar with her.

Al waved and grinned a bit more, giving Rikku a slight bow before scratching the back of his neck. "Haha, hello! It's nice to meet you, Miss Rikku. Thank you for helping Winry."

If she hadn't agreed to meet up with Winry, she would have automatically assumed that these two were on a date--they were sitting all nice and cozy, after all. If that had been the case, she wouldn't have dared interrupt; there were just some things a girl knew not to do, unlike some boys who followed people around making sure they "didn't get into any trouble" or anything. But those people were just overprotective, and Rikku was sure glad that none of them were around.

Then again, just from a quick look, they would've made a cute couple. Rikku made a mental note of that observation, maybe for further use. She wasn't any great matchmaker, but she really had helped set up Yunie and Tidus, so if there was ever any spark between these two, she'd be there to help it along.

She blinked a few times in surprise when Winry mentioned he was a friend, presumably from her world. The blonde girl grinned, though, and held out a hand to both of them, Al the left, Winry the right. "Nice to meet both of you guys!" she said brightly. "You're real lucky to have found each other. Nobody from Spira is here, but I'm just waitin' for 'em to show up. If I know my friends, they'll make it somehow!"

Winry had to say she was impressed. She doubted she would have handled being brought to a different world like this very well if she didn't have Edward and Alphonse here. Or at the very least someone she knew and trusted, which quite frankly at this point was limited to barely even a handful of people. Edward, Alphonse, Ling, Ran Fan, Mustang, Riza, Paninya, Garfiel, and of course her grandmother. Nine people, but relative to all the people she had met in her life, pretty much nothing.

She shook her head and returned the smile, relaxing a little bit "Here's hoping. Al and I can help keep an eye out for them, right Al?" Winry had perused the communicators a bit and it seemed like something new was happening constantly. Everyone hadn't been kidding when they said the city was kind of crazy.

"Sure!" Al eagerly replied, sympathizing with Rikku not having anyone from her world to be with. He remembered his first few days in the city, looking for Ed and feeling completely out of place. But if he could offer help, he was glad to do so. It was only right. Exchange for the times he was helped when he arrived.

"In the mean time, do you have a place to stay, Rikku? And Winry, do you want to stay with me and Brother?" He glanced between the two girls. It would be awkward to have Winry in the same apartment as him and Ed, but Al definitely didn't want to see his childhood friend without a place to stay.

Winry's words made her smile, and she decided that this girl was most definitely alright. "That'd be, well, that'd be great!" she said excitedly. "The people I'm really looking for are Yuna, Paine, and Gippal." She tossed in the last name almost as an afterthought, even though she had really wanted to say it first. She could have said Brother as well, but she figured it would be a little awkward if they asked everybody who was a brother if they were her brother.

The thief blinked a few times in surprise, mouth opening and closing a few times; Al's question shocked her, to say the least. She managed to gain control of her mouth, and gave a sheepish smile, gently tugging on one of her many braids. "Well, y'see, that's a funny story," she said, half-laughing. Even though it wasn't really funny at all. "I did have a place, but I kinda left it 'cause it wasn't really... my kinda thing." She paused, and shuffled her feet a bit. "So I don't really have a permanent place, no."

sorry about the late ;A; endthiscycle January 31 2010, 21:26:55 UTC
Honestly that was what she had been hoping for. It might have seemed weird to outsiders for a girl to stay with two boys, but really, as far as Winry was concerned it was like a sister staying with her brothers. If anything it was simply to be expected. That or at the very least stay in the room right next to them. She didn't know how big these rooms were, but if it didn't accomodate all of them then maybe that would be the best answer.

Rikku's story did concern her a little.

"Well then we can stay together for a while? All four of us? At least until we can get a different place." Something Winry was already planning to work on. She was heeding Greed's warning well, and with how public this MAC place seemed to be the sooner they got out the better.
